Alright everyone, inviting the guys over for a cigar and poker night, and looking to maybe try something different. I love 858's, how smooth they are, and the creamyness. Also love that they seem to always produce lots of thick smoke for me.

What other sticks should I look at? Trying to keep it within the same general price range.

More 8-5-8s?

I know that but for some reason I feel like I need to try other cigars!

I have had some NCs that I would describe as creamy, unfortunately none of the ones I remember come anywhere near the price point of the 8-5-8s. :(

I can't remember how much 858s usually go for, but for a lower end guesstimate try any of the Siglos if you can find them, higher end try the EP Carrillo Core Line

That would be my guess too, since they use the same type of wrapper and similar filler but, like shruggie implies, liking one doesn't necessarily mean you'll like the other.

The Hemingway line is fantastic. My favorite AF for sure. But if you are looking to branch out, there are a myriad of creamy, mild/medium smokes you could try. I enjoy the Leon Jimenez, Perdomo Gran Cru Connecticut, Oliva Connecticut, Nestor Miranda Special Selection, Cruzado, or maybe a Hoyo Excal. If you want to really try something different, but worth a shot, the Tabak Especial from Drew Estate is an interesting departure from traditional smokes. It's coffee infused. I am far from a flavored cigar fan, but I enjoy these from time to time.

Alright, I'll give a short story a try (part of the hemingway line, no?) and Skywalker, I do love me a good brickhouse.

Do you like the 858 Black label or Green label? I have never tried Green. If Black, then you may wanna try Cruzado. Medium body and smooth and creamy.

:tpd: I was thinking Cruzado, Illusione, regular line Ashton and La Aroma de Cuba. I found the people that don't smoke all the time like the Ashton's and La Aroma.

I'll say Hemingways, as well. A Signature or Classic. A work of art would be stretching it a bit.

I just picked up a 10 pack of Alec Bradley Family Blend. I've only smoked one but it reminded me a lot of my 858s. The La aroma de cuba magnifico was close too.

In terms of the Flor Fina 858 from AF, I would have to say that the Hemingway would be the closest in terms of likeness, but if your willing to switch countries of origin and/or brands then I would give the Oliva Serie G Natural (for it has a similar price point and wrapper - the maduro G is CBL so skip that one) a shot.

If you are looking for something that I think you will highly recommend and you are willing to spend a few extra bucks, the Cameroon Cabinet #2 Natural from La Flor Dominicana seems right up your alley being cammy wrapped and from the DR.

Hope that helps.
