Here is what the line looks like. They are all figurado shaped.

Congrats. I remember when I got my first box. Enjoy the slope.

this slope will have to start off slow. I just bought a house and this was a pretty cheap box. I'm pretty sure the slope will grow ever steeper soon though.

I've eyed these up myself. Don't seem like a bad price if they are good.

Anyone ever have them?? (bump)

Haha I don't think so. I am curious of others opinions on them though as I almost bought a box myself. They look tasty but looks can be deceiving. I have heard good things though.

Another one bites the dust and begins the slide down the Slippery Slope :ss

This. I forgot to make a comment in my post above but, as others have said, welcome to the slippery slope. It all starts the same. A brother buys a box and then says that it won't become a problem. Box arrives and it is like Christmas all over again. Brother says no more boxes. A week later the same brother is ordering another box "just to have some to age" or "just to make sure I have enough". Then begins the spiral out of control. :tu

Spirals are good. Have you seen the new Miller Lite bottle?

Oh, wait, that's a vortex. Never mind.

Congrats on the box purchase! As for the 1844's i picked up a 10 pack a few weeks ago. i forget what size. I like them. they start off mild/med and ramp up pretty good toward the end. For the price they are great and i have had no construction issues yet. i gave one to a buddy of mine who likes milder cigars and he really loved it up until the strength kicked in in the last
3rd and he started to sweat and turn a little green lol. As far as i can tell these are also AJ Fernandez sticks. I cant confirm that for sure but one of the 1844's was in a sampler containing nothing but his cigars on CI.

First boxes are always the best. I remember mine like it was yesterday. The one you get as a gift is right up there, too!!

Fordman4ever

I will always remember this box. I have yet to receive a box as a gift, but i can tell you that who ever sends me my first gift box will remember the hell that I unleash upon them as a return fire.

:noon CONGRATZ!!! :noon

I remember my first full box. They were ARTURO FUENTES HEMINGWAY SIGNATURE back in 1998. This is your first big step toward that fork in the road where you will come face-2-face with two options:

Option one: CABINET???

Option two: KOOLER???

I am having a hard time commiting to a whole box of one cigar. I have purchased a couple sampler tins of ten, one from MOW and the other was Diesel. I think I would be happy with a box of Nub 460 Maduros but there are so many others out there I haven't tried yet.

Beware the dreaded ODO. For you noobs, that's "Order Disorder". At some point you will have more cigars than you can possibly smoke, but the deal is just soooo good you have to get a couple more boxes. That is what lies at the bottom of the aforesaid slippery slope. :r

I had to pass up a couple of good deals on Cigar Monster because it's not payday yet. It's killing me. I might even have to wait until we go to Austin on Sunday.

I don't have the urge to stock up on NC's. They are rather hit or miss for aging. CC's, on the other hand... I am to the point where I am thinking it's best to buy 2 boxes of a cigar. One to test, and one to age... :D

My first box was Boli PC's IIRC.

I am almost ashamed to admit it but my first box purchase was Don Diego Playboy's back when I was 18 :lr

Those? That is because you are a playboy Tyr :tu

My first box was Romeo Y Julieta Habana Reserve Coronas. I will have to search and see if there is a thread for first box purchased (probably is) if not we should make one as this is interesting.

Wait, what was this thread about again?

I remember my first box (montecristo afrique sublimation) It's funny, you start off by buying 5 packs or winning a cbid auction and then you order your first box and it feels like christmas, but it's only a UPS box. That feeling of getting your first box never goes away and then one day you recieve a secret "contact" from a botl at a herf or a message here and the next thing you know is you're ordering your first box from a forbidden place and it all starts over again for you. This is a dark path my friend, but also one of the best decisions you'll ever make. Good luck with your new addiction. :ss

I haven't received that "message" yet, which is probably a good thing. I don't think I can afford the slide down that slope. Wish I could though.

Looks great bro! Enjoy them youself and enjoy them with friends. A great experience alone is a wonderful thing but a shared enjoyment with friends or family multiplies that experience exponentially. Congratulations and don't forget to surrender your debit card, credit cards, and all savings and checking account info to your new hobby, it's easier that way. :ss
