I'm about to whip up some lemonade, blend it with ice, and smoke a cigar with it. I've had a couple of stogies with a cold glass of lemonade before, but I wonder what the experience of others might bring to the table. So tell me, what would YOU pair with a cold glass of lemonade?

San Cristobal, Sel. Del Sol sounds about right

I rummaged through the humi and found a SC robusto. IDT it's a Sel. Del Sol though. Don't they have an extra band around the foot?

Lemonade is nearly done and I need to pair a smoke with it! I think this thread may come in handy for various opinions considering that it's summer and lemons are usually free if you know where to look. I have access to several trees in my neighborhood. You know what they say. When life gives you lemons...

I think I've only had lemonade with a BRC and CoLa.

2-3 shots of vodka and a float of Grand Marnier & Meyers dark rum.

Maybe a PAM64 and some potato chips too.

Dunno but I don't have a lemon tree or a money tree :D Lemonade sure sounds refreshing right now though.

I prefer a connie or habano wrapper with lemonade. Maddies sometimes get a sour aftertaste, IME.

Vodka, and something bolivar cc. Pc or cg would be my picks, depending on time.

Well, I had no cookies, potato chips, or Cohiba anything, and I don't do booze. Closest I had to the other pairings was a Boli GM, PAM 26, and a San Cristobal robusto, so I went with the latter. It was a pretty nice pairing. I'm sure I'll be trying other matches throughout the this summer, and I can't wait to here more from all of you.

Mario, I pair lemonade with many of the cigars I smoke. Not as a companion to the individual stick, but as a very effective palette cleanser that is crisp, has an acid base that cuts thru any cigar film in my mouth, and with a taste that doesn't linger over long. I find that sipping lemonade every now and then renews my taste buds during a smoke (or between different cigars) very effectively. Never tried to pair it specifically with an individual cigar. But i probably drink it as a palette cleanser at least 50% of the times I smoke!! But, I use only lemonade made with real sugar, not artificial sweeteners, as I find the taste of artificial sweeteners to be a taste disaster!

Cliff, thank you for this post. I have considered what is in it, tried it, and fell in love with lemonade. I now find that it tasted great, is refreshing, and really does cleanse my palette between puffs. I thought it would be good with certain cigars and make others taste bitter, but it works perfectly with everything I've accompanied it with. This may be my new go to drink to have with my cigars. I may even like it more than Mexican Coke...
