Just heard from him today :)
He is fallowing in my footsteps and starting his tour in the Navy. I know mail was what kept me going in basic training, so if you want to drop him a line to tell him you're thankful for his service:
SR Montano, Nicholas A.
Ship 11 Division 284
RTC 3505 Sailor Drive
Great Lakes, IL. 60088-3505
I get all choked up inside when I think about him !!

What does he want to do while there? My good friend started in IL, then moved to NY, Charleston, Conn, etc. He was on craft carriers+ subs, and now is in Michigan recruiting, but has engineering exp with nuclear based craft. Godspeed in his ventures!

He's thinking Shore Patrol or Medic. I was on a helicopter carrier.
Thanks Michael, I still see him as a baby ;)

Bravo Zulu to Nicholas and you, Nick! If you get a chance, go see him graduate (damn the cost, full speed ahead!). One of my proudest moments was watching my youngest daughter graduate from Navy boot camp. :salute:

I've had experience with the Shore Patrol; they used to drag me out of bars. :al
