According to CNet:

The good: A unique juxtaposition of e-book reader and tablet computer, providing an ideal platform for text notations and scholastic research.

The bad: It weighs as much as five Amazon Kindles and many of its most desirable capabilities are buried in a muddled, fractured user interface.

The bottom line: The Entourage Edge successfully answers the call for an e-book reader designed for textbooks and academics, but casual readers will find the device awkward to handle and complicated to operate.

Hmm, I guess I can do better- not at all interested in the e-reader part.

Walk away Hugh. 1.6 is a way, way outdated version of the Android OS.

The best budget Android tablet right now, in my option is, is the Viewsonic G-Tab (around $300, was on sale for $250 a couple weeks ago), or if you are looking for something smaller, the Samsung Galaxy Tab (original, 7 inch version) which you can find around $300 also. That is until the new line of Archos "G series" Tablets comes out.

Moto XOOM is today's woot: http://www.woot.com/

This is a great device...little pricer but great. If I had any extra dough I'd be jumping on it.

I'd say super no, Hugh. I'd find something tailored to what you specifically need. If you're looking for an ereader, a kindle or ipad is kickass.

My wife has an iPad and I have a Kindle. Neither of us would recommend using the iPad as a reader unless you are only reading indoors.

The iPad is great for alot of things but the display sucks outside in the sunlight... I can read on the Kindle anywhere and it is a fraction of the price of an iPad... Just my :2
