I got up this morning to find that mother nature had graced us with nearly a foot of snow here in Michigan's great swouthwest.

Luckily it was my day off and I didn't have to take care of the driveway before my usual 5:00 am departure for work. Since it was a day off though I did want to smoke a cigar. The deck didn't appear to be a good option.

Well I was going to be out there for over an hour blowing my driveway clear. Why not have a cigar while snow blowing? Not wanting to waste a premium stick if this didn't work, I selected an NC RyJ Reserva Real. Fired up the blower and the cigar and went to work. Thankfully the blower has an auger lock so that I can operate it with one hand on the long stretches. While not as easy as smoking while riding on the tractor, it was no problem puffing and blowing at the same time. :D

Lee,

what city is that on the SW side of MI? Detroit has gotten no snow. You have two sweet man caves though :cb

I am in the St. Joe/Benton Harbor area, right on Lake Michigan. This was all lake effect snow that fell in about 4 hours. Unfortunately the big grey pole barn belongs to my neighbor and he is not a cigar smoker. :( Mine are the 2 small white sheds.

Thank god I'm up in Detroit, Rochester, and Flint this week and next week. I have a feeling though that this is going to be a long winter when I do the northern Indiana and Michigan shops.

Dang, that looks cold! At least the cigar can help keep you warm :ss

It's been down in the upper 30's and lower 40's around here the last few nights. That's low enough for this southern boy!

Can you believe this damn snow!!!!!! Geez....... We got a little less than a foot over here in Paw Paw. Crazy lake effect snow....

I managed to get three sticks in this afternoon and the day isn't over yet.

Looks like fun Lee! Why isn't Ken over there helping you? :r

Great pix! No snow here, but low teens temperature-wise in SW Ohio! The heat pump does no good at those temps- time to turn on the supplemental heat and really see that electricity wheel spin!

That first picture almost looks like a postcard. I would love to get snow like that every now and then.

Nice pics! We got a few flakes last night, and my kids were on a 2-hour delay for school this morning as a result. We fear snow in North Carolina.

No snow here, but we're making ice on the lakes. Should be ice fishing in another couple weeks! :tu

I'm not looking forward to snow myself, we've just had a dusting of it here in the Roseville area. But I felt bad for the crew that was doing the roofing job on my house today - 22 degrees with gusty winds right up until they quit. It was COLD!!!

My screened in porch with the storms was warm enough though - I was able to sit out there most of the day getting in 4 sticks during the day. :ss

Great pics Lee. I was up at my buddy's hunting cabin this weekend which is just north of Lake City. At least 8" on snow on the ground. Beautiful, but I am really not ready mentally for winter just yet.
