So I'm looking for a new helmet for my bike. The ones that came with it are cheap little brain buckets. I really like the German WW 2 style helmets but I have a large head. Anyone got some advice for what to look for? I don't want a full face helmet. Thanks!

If the bike is larger than a 250cc then I recommend you buy this one for it .....

1200 sportster. Or as Larry and Greg call it, a scooter.

I always liked the styling of German helmets from either WWI or WWII. If you're not worried about having a DOT approved helmet I'd recommend searching ebay for helmets from either war, you're likely to find a large size that way.

If you want DOT approved try this site. They have sizes up to 2XL. http://www.leatherup.com/c/German-Helmets/2/178.html

I don't think i called it that, just said it wouldn't be big enough for you. Mines only a 1600. Anyhow like what you ride and ride what you like I always say.:tu

Get a DOT certified helmet. Find something comfortable, it has to work for you. Here is one about your speed!!

$40.00 from a local bike shop. DOT. Paint cost about $50.00 extra.

No, it would cost a lot more than that.

Right, I forgot the plastic surgery to the rider. :)

Unfortunately, it is hard to make a deer pay for damages to your bike. Even more so, when it is dead.

The two bottom pictures were from a VW van though. That had a more satisfactory outcome.

I will be "that guy" and say buy a full face, ARAI always worked well when I was racing. Those skid lids are useless and I think that your friends and family would appreciate it if you wore a helmet that actually might save your life. If fashion/freedom is more important to you then just don't wear one. Because essentially those helmets provide the same protection as nothing at all.
