Cigar: Liga Privada T-52
Vitola / Wrapper / Binder: Toro
Drink / Food: Great Lakes Brewery Edmund Fitzgerald
http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg80/lou2row/100_3923.jpg
Outside Factors: Out in shop; cold crappy evening
Construction: Very nice roll, smoothly done with a great finished cap. Nice bunching at foot. Very firm throughout without any soft spots. A couple of stems under cap cause for hard cut.
Prelight : Very light scent to wrapper, reminiscent of something from the spice cabinet. End smells of richly scented tobacco. Prelight draw is good with a fresh, minty flavor.
First Third: Cigar lights easily with dense clouds of volumous smoke. Flavors kick off with dry cedar and spice; raisins and oak on the finish. Some warming pepper on the throat, not overpowering.
Draw: almost perfect
Burn: not razor sharp, but no corrections necessary. Never needed relit.
Ash/Smoke: Ash splits from the beginning, but is a pretty gray color and solid and dense. Smoke is full and flavorful
Second Third: Not normally a cedar fan, but here it is working well with the other flavors in concert. Rich earthiness comes in. Wrapper splits from cut to band. Could be humidity issue in humidor. Still draws well. Cigar continues to smoke cool and slow.
Final third: I now have to hold the cigar to keep from losing wrapper above band. The body of the cigar has built to full now, and flavors are dense and creamy. No bite near end and stays to cool burning throughout.
Strength: med/full Flavor: med/full

Overall Impression: Even though no real “wow” factor jumped out at me, this cigar has all the makings of a top ten candidate. Complexity, flavor, construction, draw, burn, added up to an extremely enjoyable cigar. I had not smoked one of these since reviewing a prototype; and if I remember correctly, this had many of the same qualities. Definitely worth a try if you haven’t yet. I can recommend this stick to anyone who enjoys fuller cigars.
Construction: 9 10
Prelight: 5 5
First Third: 14 15
Draw: 10 10
Burn: 9 10
Ash / Smoke: 9 10
Second Third: 8 10
Final Third: 8 10
Overall impression: 18 20
Total Score: 90 100

James, deja vu! Adam asked me to post over the review here. I have to start coming over and getting to know folks on this board.

If I get a five man blind review panel around, are you game?

Yup. I did that.

And the new Cabinetta Lancero review when you get to smoking them.

What can I say my friend, you write your reviews very well.

You should hang out here more often, I'm sure there are some members here in your neck of the woods.

The Flying Pig vitola of this cigar has more of a wow factor although I have enjoyed a couple of the other vitolas as well. I absolutely love the smoke of these cigars. I only smoke these when I have ample time to enjoy them without interruption, as they take a while, and if the proper regimen of drawing slowly and eating well beforehand isn't followed, the euphoria can turn to unwelcomed side effects before you know it.

Nice review. I prefer the 9's over the T-52s'. The T-52 had a "bitter/bland" taste that I cannot get past in the few that I torched.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I did a blind review over here sending to two guys, but didn't stay around. I don't know why, I need to get to know the gang over here and be more involved.

Loving the ligas. Mind you, only tried the T52 line, but those have been just blowing me away. Great construction, delicious taste and overall great experiences. T52s are definitely my top cigars.

Out of a bottle. Just started homebrewing, and would love to find a clone recipe for the beer.

Any similarities to the #9? what are some differences? I tried a #9 tonight and it was the best cigar I have smoked! I immediately talked my neighbor into ordering a 5r and splitting me one.
I see alot of people commented they prefer the 9s, anybody go the other way besides the last post any why?

I would decribe the T-52 as a #9 light. If you enjoyed but T-52 and lean towards a more full-bodied smoke, the #9 will blow your mind! I've got a box of #9s that are so good as-is that it's hard to let them age...but I'm trying to show restraint. As my friend has decreibed them, they're like a steak dinner transformed into a cigar. Mmm, mmm, good! :dr

The T-52 and the No.9 are similar, the No.9 is more earthy and the T-52 is more spicy. Body and depth of flavor are about the same. I happen to prefer the T-52, the PA stalk cut habano capa is unique and tastes as such.
