This place is pretty vaulted when it comes to their espresso blends. Their coffee is top notch.

A few times a year, when I order cigars from JRs, I toss into the order a few pounds of the Mayorga beans they carry. I really like both their Kenya Serengeti Estate AA and the Ethopian Yirgachaffe (sp??). At $10/lb, it's a good buy.

Their Black Cat espresso blend is hard to beat.

I have become very loyal to CCM Coffee in Tampa for their green beans and find their prices, quality, and customer service hard to beat.

I'm a huge coffee snob, and really enjoy their coffee. They don't even roast your coffee until they get your order.

I have not tried them personally but many have over at Coffegeek.com. Mostly good reports but they tried to do gorilla advertising over there and basically got banned.

Roastmasters.com and sweet marias are two places I highly recommend for green beans.
For roasted beans I posted a link earlier in this thread that has most of the high end specialty roasters. One I really like when I buy roasted beans is redbird http://http://redbirdcoffee.com/ With a 5 lb order shipping is free and I am a advocate of freezing beans to preserve them.

http://www.thecaptainscoffee.com/ is a nice little shop in Kernersville,N.C. run by two very nice folks. They have some excellent coffee, and good prices. Denny is all about customer service, and he included a sample with my order that I did not expect. He will be getting new items as the season goes along,I recommend them highly.......

I have ordered once from GenX & was very happy with their service... They asked me to confirm the contents of my order via email & generously sent an extra pound for this 'inconvenience'. I will definitely order again... Make sure to sign up to receive their email discounts.

I just placed an order with a shop a friend told me about in Morrisville,NC called Muddy Dog coffee. They also will sell you green beans if you request them.

They have a few types of beans that you will not find elsewhere,I have requested the list and will post it.The one that caught my eye is a Nicaragua Limoncillo Pacamara peaberry, the description lists notes of lemongrass, pecans and mulling spices,I have to try this!!

Custom Roasted Coffee

http://www.baristaonduty.com

You wouldn't be connected to that site in anyway, would you?:)

In all of my coffee travels, that has to be the biggest ripoff I've ever seen.

$75 a lb for "hand crafted" pan roasted cofffee? WTF?

It hasn't been major, but I've noticed green bean prices have risen lately.

I've been sticking with CCM coffee out of Tampa and love their Costa Rica Hard Bean as well as the Sumatra. I've been generally paying $25 for 5 pounds of beans and $9 for shipping, so I'm averaging 7 bucks per pound of some great stuff that I've gotten comfortable roasting.

Best of all, after if I order early enough in the day, it's on my porch the next afternoon after a 60 mile trip.

I might see about stopping by to check the place out the next time I head out to the Gulf coast.

I ordered a sampler pack from Ravens Brew.. I feel I am spending so much at the crap coffee.. from the grocery store. Online, not much better as I see.

This is my first time ordering online. I am going to start researching roasting my own.

I gave up with ordering online. With shipping it ends up being more cost than I think it's worth for me. I suppose if you live somewhere where it's not so easy to get decent to excellent beans it makes sense.

I used my last sampler bag that I got from Ravens Brew. Stupid me, I didn't care to make notes on which ones I like. So, After 6 samplers, I have no clue what to re-order if I do.

Scott (shilala) recommended Nicaraguan Knife Fight from killerbeans.com. Since he has good taste in sticks I figured can't go wrong with a coffee recommendation from this good man.

I logged onto the site and thought I ordered a pound of beans. Realized that I did place an order but that you can't pay online. So I called them up to see about paying for the beans, thinking it would be faster than them waiting on a check from me.
Spoke to Jerry (heck of a nice guy), he said he'll send them out tomorrow with an invoice. I was floored to be honest, sending out product without payment first...REALLY?!?! Jerry said 'I know where you live, just send me a check when you get them'.
Not sure why that amazes me, it just does. He said after the first of the year they'll have a new site that will accept cards.
I can't wait to try this coffee. And just from a quick 3 minute conversation with Jerry, I know I'll be buying from them again and would recommend this site to everyone!

Thanks for the recommendation Scott!!

The Brazilian Bombshell was always one of my favorites when I used to buy roasted coffee before taking up home roasting.

Besides Raven's Brew, are there any other places that offer sampler packs of whole beans? I'm just getting into drinking coffee and trying to find different types that i might enjoy. But because I don't drink it every day, buying 12oz or larger bags would take me a while to go through. Anyone possibly want to do a trade, some cigars for some beans? I tend to like the bolder roasts more, but would be open to trying something lighter.
