Found these two bottles in the back of my mother in laws wine cabinet. What are the odds they are any good? I know I can crack them open and try but I'd rather not. What do you think?

I am sure the dates don't mean anything, but I posted them anyways.

Neither of them are very good to begin with. I couldn't imagine them being good now.

Although I know nothing about aging liquor, all of my bottles get at most a week of "age" on them.

My understanding is that liquor does not continue to age once bottled. What you had in 1979 & 1984 is basically what you have today. So bust 'em open and let us know. Or buy some current production for a comparison.

Hard liquor neither ages or deteriorates with time. If the seal is not great you may notice some evaporation but otherwise it should be fine.

I don't know about 70's version, but Sauza Conmemorativo is a "higher end" bottle these days.
I'm no connoisseur but I wont turn my nose up at it.

:tu What can I say, I really enjoy the liquor I buy. I definitely follow the quality not quantity rule, unless I'm mixing drinks then I don't waste the good $hit.

I kind of figured it wouldn't "age" but seeing as how I didn't know for sure I didn't want to jump the gun and look like an arse.

http://www.bevmo.com/Shop/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=15288 At ~$40 MSRP for a 1.75 liter I wouldn't drink it straight. I suppose it would mix fine in a tequila sunrise or margarita though.

My vote is mix it up with something you like and see for yourself. Then report the findings :tu

As for the Canadian club, give it to someone you really don't like :r
