New cabinet humidor ordered FINALLY [Archive]

I know I talked about this last year but well life gets in the way of things, you know how that goes.

Anyway the wife surprised me last night but ordering me the Tower humidor in black from cheaphumidors.com and the Hydra LG.

Awesome wife I have I must say, she's a keeper.

Now the wait is killing me. I will post up once it arrives. Can't wait to start filling it up.

Anyone ever add any lights to their humidor cabinets, if so what lighting do you recommend that won't heat up the cabinet too much.

Congrats!

I have that same humidor in Oak. It's does it's job well. I had to make a few modifications as I'm super-picky about my RH being steady and even throughout, but it's a great humi for the price and size. :tu

If you're going to add lights, make sure you use LEDs to cut down on the heat.

Anyone remember how the shipping worked from them on a cabinet this size, was it a call from a freight company.

How long generally did it take before you knew it shipped.

A friend of mine has the same humi...What were the mods if you don't mind me asking ??
He's had his for about 6 years now; and is quite happy with it. The only issue he has to keep the RH high; as the heating/AC vent blows right on the unit.

So far the humidity is building up nicely. The door does close tightly but I noticed some light across the top so I ran some weather stripping on the cabinet so the door rests against it when closed. Problem solved and you can't see it when the door is closed.

I tell you though waiting for a cabinet this size to season is a killer :sad
