Half a block from the house this evening, I'm sitting STOPPED with my signal on to make a turn and WHAMMO, a guy in a Econoline Van barrels me into my rearend going about 30MPH. Luckily I am fine (with only a sore neck). But I believe my beloved Durango is totalled...as I believe the frame may be bent. My vehicle is about a foot and a half higher in the a$$ end than it was before today. Notice the other guys license plate still embedded in my tailpipe. Needless to say he was charged for following too closely and the vehicle can be replaced.
Dom, Keith & Ryan...check out my license plate!!

With the rising gas prices hey may have done you a favor.
As someone 2 weeks out from my second cervical diskectomy, don't blow off any lingering pain as just whiplash - get it checked out.

Thank God you're okay, buddy. :tu
Like the brothers said, go get checked out. The whole deal, stays, MRI, the works. It's not being a wussy, it's being smart. His insurance will take care of it, I'd certainly think.
Take it easy tomorrow, too. It sometimes takes a day or two for the thumping to start hurting.
Prayers for ya, brother!!!

He saw the Mets plate and got angry. He did it on purpose. :p
Glad to hear you're OK (physically, as we all know you're not right mentally), but DEFINITELY go in and get checked out. tell the doc about the accident, and they should know what to look for. Better safe than sorry. You don't want something showing up down the line because of this and then you are SOL with payments because of it.

Is that your insurance settlement? If that's the case, the other guys insurance should pick up the balance, although you may need (and I'd recommend) to hire an attorney. I just wouldn't be in a hurry to settle with them until you know the extent of your injuries and any future long term care you may need. :2

I agree with Tim, too.
If you go to the hospital, and your neck hurts, things seem to turn out a LOT more favorably. A lawyer can't hurt a bit.
I never used to believe in the whole lawyer horsesh1t world, but it's honestly the only way to get insurance companies to play fair. It's a disgusting development, but it's just the way things are.

Thanks for all the guidance fellas...but the thing is, I am fine. No hurt neck, no bruises, no hurt back, no broken bones...in other words...no ill effects from the accident. Guess being in the Army for 23+ years taught me to be "rough and tough". Trust me when I say I am fine. As for the Durango...it was 11 years old, I got my money's worth out of it.
