Well 4AM comes pretty but I'd rather be the first of the day than the last!! The surgery went smoothly and lasted about three houirs. Now I am the proud owner of a Stryker hip!
Thank you for all your well wishes and prayers! I have a real issue with operations and knowing my CA family was there for me really helps!!
God bless you all!

Glad to hear everything went well, I have 2 stryker hips and mine came with a 20 yr warranty for both...Did they go in through the side or the front?

Through the side using an existing scar. 50yr warranty with a potential to have a lainer in 20. Boy has tech improved!!

Good luck in your recovery Jeff! I had a Stryker knee put in several years ago and only have one thing to say, with a good surgeon and good parts like Stryker, your life has changed for the better after some rehab. The more work you put into the rehab, the more complete your recovery!:tu

Good to hear...have they had you on the steps yet? that was the hurdle I had to clear in order to be sent home...Still rehabbing my left hip which was done late Oct 2010 but having issues with the right which was done by the same surgeon Jun 2009. It's a long process and like someone else said the more you take the rehab at home seriously the quicker you'll be on your own two feet again

I'm scheduled to do the stair test first thing tomorrow morning, if I do well I may get to go home! It may still be friday though but I am ok with that. I am so amazed at how different things are nowadays. I had a femoral osteotomy 17 years ago and was in the hospital for two weeks! And now they get me up the next morning and out of bed!
I have a titanium socket with this new plastic liner that is supposed to last 50 years, apparently it is the latest and greatest that they only give to young people. I am excited about this new lease on a painless life!

I have the ceramic features...I'm told I won't squeek for some time and I'll never need to change the oil...oh and I don't sound like the 6 million dollar man when I move...
Love that they give it a badass name and glad all went well.
Enjoy your recuperation. Probably gonna need a few more smokes to pass all that time, aren't you?

Awesome Jeff! I glad you are doing well. I wish you a speedy recovery. P.s. The Stryker hip is what I've got too it's treated me great. 14 hour retail days not a problem. Just make sure to do your part with PT. Good luck brother.

WOW. How are you moving around post-surgery? I'm sure there is still some swelling/sorness associated with major surgery, but I hope there is overall improvement. PT too I'm sure?
