View Full Version : Sooo, I think I am liking Pepin sticks....
I saved a Don Pepin Garcia from the newsletter that JaKaach (thanks again) sent me when I came here, it had an 08' label on it and it was very tasty, I see that the Tat line is also Pepin. So I have been looking at samplers and it looks like Cigar.com has some great Pepin samplers, is that the best or good place to get them? any other places? Thanks

Holts has some house blends by Pepin(Old Henry), as is their
Ashton San Cristobal line.
The San Cristobals are favs of mine.
Pepin has TONS of blends. Probably too many to list.

Great cigars, glad you found em. I was lucky enough to meet the man himself on a trip to Little Havana last year.

Yes, it is amazing how many blends/sticks can come from one manufacturer, it is confusing to me!!!

The Padillas on that list are no longer produced by Pepín. I tend to enjoy the blends that Pepín produces for others rather than the Pepín branded sticks. I have a multitude of 601, Tatuaje brown la els and quite enjoy the San Cristobál line.
I'd have to say the My Father Le Bijou line are my favorite Pepin smokes right now. The complexity and richness of these is unmatched in any of his other blends that I have tried.

Wow, I never realized the Pepin had his hands in so many blends. I've always used the Pepin cigagrs as my "goto" cigar if I didn't know what I was in the mood for. Looking at the list, a lot of them I have had not knowing and must say, have enjoyed every single one of them.
It all makes sense now!!!!

That's an old-azz list... Pepin and Padilla parted ways about 3 years ago and there are others that he has taken on or created since that are not listed, Nestor Miranda and Cubao for example.
Also, I'm pretty sure that a number of the cigars listed for Miami had their production moved in their entirety to Nicaragua.

Yeah, quite old. I count 15 on that list that is no longer made by Pepin.
As mentioned, this thread is more updated: http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=4273&highlight=pepin&page=8

Remo, if you like Pepin's, you have to try some of the blends made for CigarKing. Those are some of his earlier nc blending work and I personally think the Hirsh y Garcia is Pepin's best. Especially the Panatella!
Thanks, is Cigarking a retailer or brand? Sorry.

I think 85% of the 200+ cigars in my cooler are some form of Pepin and/or Pete Johnson creation. You cannot go wrong with Newhavana, tremendous customer service.

Got to agree there. The little Petite Robusto in that line is really a fantastic smoke....:tu
Couple other Pepin smokes I regularly enjoy are the little Tat Petite Cazadore Reserva (just had one with AM coffee - awesome), and the Pepin Blue labels.

Seeing as how this is a Pepin thread, not trying to jack the thread but....Anyone know when the LE 2011 My Father is coming out?
BTW it's worth the price to try one of the 2010 coffins.

Can't go wrong here. Best Tobac on the market as far as I'm concerned. I always find myself going back to it....

Doesn't he manufacture the Cubao line in his Esteli Nicaragua plant as well under EO?

Pepin makes most, if not all, of the EO cigars now. BTW, it's "for", not "under". He doesn't have ownership in EO, he's just a contracted manufacturer.

Try a My Father for sure if you haven't already. I had my first on yesterday and it is by far my new favorite.

Who owns United Tobacco?
Who owns United Tobacco?
There are a few Untied Tobaccos, but the one you are talking about is Eddie Ortega, Erik Espinosa and as of almost a year ago, Rocky Patel, who purchased a 50% stake in the company.

I am definately a fan of Pepin's blends. I have been a bit disapointed in some of his own banded sticks due to thier delicate wrappers. They are tasty thought.
Hmmmm...a botl in search of My Fathers...

Yeah, lots of good samplers around. Hard to decide on which, but if that's the worst thing in life i've got it made. :)
