So i have a 2008 toast across american box set sitting in my humidor. Now ive never actually smoked either brand but i hear both need alot of age. Is close to 3 years enough age for these to smoke well? I said i good amount for these 2 and would obviously not want to "waste" them by smoking them before they are ready.

The 2007 is ready IMO. Had one a few years back and they were excellent. Maybe smoke the 2008 next year if you'd like. I'm jealous. :2

I see. If I were you, and you were me, then I would wait ATLEAST one more year on the 08 set. Patience pays well on these.

I am guessing they would be amazing with 10 years on them, I would wait 7 more years.

the dcm is ready right now
the opus is more subjective, some people think 1 year is enough other 2-3 I think it would be fine now

I would probably wait 12 years just to be sure.

I would wait as long as you can. Those are big, full bodied cigars that will last decades, and improve greatly with age. I would imagine the 15-20 year mark would be "money" for those cigars. But who wants to wait that long?:r

I think at least 15 years would be the best bet, as Nate said.

If they are going to be good in 15 years and we follow the rule of threes they should be epic in 45 years.

I smoked my pack of those last month and they smoked great! You are good to smoke them now, but more time wouldn't hurt it!

I would just time capsule those bad boys up until at least 2208/09.

I'd wait until you turn 65 then your old enough to enjoy them and you will have learned patience.

Put these in your will for your grandkids. Or better yet smoke them both at once.

Or better yet smoke them both at once.

Wouldn't that effectively double the age?
