Mithshrike stared a thread about your favorite stick, but I'm curious as to your best ever? The one that you compared all others too. I know it's hard to say as your tastes change and where, when and with whom you smoked, but is there one stick that just stands out in your memory as " Now this is what it's supposed to be like!"

For me it was a Cohiba Lancero followed closely by my first Oliva V.

I have to say it was the 07 RyJ EL Escudos or a Cohiba Esplendidos. now I've only had 2 RyJs and 1 of the Cohiba but those were the two that first stuck out in my mind.

Of course those Habanos Torres Ugly Sticks. Also I had an '06 Montecristo No. 2 a little while back that was excellent.

Well, as we are on this side of the fence....Camacho 11/18 Triple Maduro, Litto Gomez Diez Chisel Puro.

I've had some MC2s that have blown me away. As far as NCs go, I'd have to say a nicely aged Shark or Opus FF.

Sticking with Bob on this side of the fence it was an '05 Opus x Fuente Fuente gifted to me from Fred (macms)... it is the stick that made me believe in Opus and re-affirm my Fuente whore status...:dr

In the top 5 was my first Casa Fuente I just smoked not too long ago... gifted to me by Dave (Opusfxd), and my first anejo 46... I still remember turning a lighter shade of white smoking it, but damn was it good!

Those are the 3 that stick out the most for the Non CCs... :D

Mine oddly enough is a stick that I loved to Mutha F all the time until I had that one. I smoked an Opus X Perfection X with roughly 3 years of age it. I honestly have to say that it was the end all be all of every smoke I have ever had in my life. So much so that I went from pretty much being an Opus hater to running out and getting a bunch just so I can lay them down to smoke a couple years from now although one of the Power Rangers may meet an untimely death just for experimental purposes.:ss Before this every Opus I have ever had left me with a feeling like I was just robbed after smoking them.

Toss up between my first Camacho Triple Maduro, probabaly cause I thought it was just a gimmick and gonna be crappy, yet amazingly good, and the Camacho Scorpion gifted by my BABOTL buddies. Man that's almost a perfect smoke.

Maybe it was just the setting but I would have to say a Cohiba Piramide 2006 when they first came out. Great cigar with great memories.

Man... that's a tough one. I've had a number that I thought were the best at the time, really a function of my level of experience more so than a refined sense of taste. But, I had an R&J Churchill from back in the 1980s, as I recall, that really, really knocked my socks off. A completely different stick than the ones I've had that were two or three or so years old. It was a wonderful stick and I was glad it was a Churchill.

Cohiba Siglo VI and Romeo y Julieta Churchill Tubo, closely followed by the Bolivar Belicoso Fino. I haven't had a lot of NCs that really stood out like those did.

70's Boli PC was real nice... however, my first 01 ERdM Lunch Club blew me away... I smoked through all of those (and I really wish I hadn't now... what fantastic smokes...)... :(

For CC I would say its a tie between the PSD4 and MC#2 Ive have. I only smoked 1 MC and 3 PSD4 all the PSD4 were all very consistent and wonderful smokes one of my all time favorite! But the Monte I had blew me away! I want another heh but ill have to wait to order a box sometime. After those two.. I would say it would have to be my first CC I ever had Romeo y Julieta Churchill Tubo.

For Non-CC I would say one of my first cigars was Fuente Fuente Opus X. These cigars are sometime it or miss.. but if aged they are a brilliant smoke tons of that signature opus kick and very flavorful. Also while in Vegas I smoked a handful of the Casa Fuente's also now one of my favorites need to have my friend that lives there send me a few... Wish I would have bought some to bring home.

70s partagas connie #3... hands down

I have smoked one and one only and thought this cigar was great.
Now I can not remember exactly what I liked about it.

I know I can always turn to a Siglo II and know I will like it.
Cohiba Esplendidos are up there in my Humidor.

Ever......?

Definitions vary. One might be:

When Jane was due with our first we head out to the hospital. Normal Lamaze blowing coaching etc. Things are exciting and scary. We get to the hospital, check in and everything is just flowing smoothly.

Suddenly the heart monitor goes crazy and there are seemingly dozens of hospital folks running around us. They kick me out to the general waiting area with the rest of the family. Doctor comes with me explaining that the cord it around the babies neck and they are doing an emergency C-section right then.

After what seemed like forever they brought me back to see our new healthy baby Kait and Jane who was recovering fine. A few hours later, when Mom and new baby were sleeping and all the relatives had gone home, I went out to the parking lot.

Fired up a Hoyo Excalibur # 1. Thought about life, my wife our new baby and how much we had to be thankful for. I will never enjoy any cigar I ever smoke more than that one on that day.

Still only a noob, smoking for 6 months. My best stick ever was my 2nd cigar -- a La Aurora Prefidero Platinum. Very yummy.

Oliva V Churchill Extra was the first real stick that just floored me and go me excited about the hobby. Then a 06 EL Piramide, in Spain just pushed me over the edge. I have had some great sticks since then. but these two started the love affair.

It's a tie. I had a bunch of '64 Upmann #4s that raisin gave me that were outstanding. So unique, so tasty, so gone lol. The other was my first Flor del Punto that Eric gave me. Dizzum, it was like smoking wine!

I have been fortunate to smoke many outstanding rare and vintage sticks. Picking one based on the cigar itself would be damn near impossible. Like with fine wine, the cigar experience is enhanced by the environment and circumstances when it is smoked - see Da Klugs' post for a good example.

For me, the 70s H. Upmann Naturals tubo gifted to me by Kelly (poker) on my 50th birthday was off the charts. An outstanding cigar in the company of family and good friends made this one my favorite.

The best cigar I've ever smoked is a tie. On one hand, my first Cuban - a 2008 Cohiba Siglo VI. Oh...mygod. Tied with it was the 2006 Romeo y Julieta Churchill Tubo gifted to me by an awesome BOTL. Gotta try one with some real age on it now!

[EDIT] Seems I already posted in this thread...

Litto Gomez Small Batch II is up there.

I think the first cigar I ever had that made my jaw drop was a Perdomo Champagne when I first started. That one got me hooked. I still really enjoy a creamy smoke.

Shemp, it appears by both our "label avatars" and your response that we have similar taste. A couple of CCs to mention would be the Partagas Serie D No. 4 and a Hoyo de Monterrey Piramides...both verrrrry excellent! As far as NCs go...there are just so many to mention, but I'll note an Oliva V Figurado, and more recently...the RP Decades are amazing! Would an AF God of Fire seemingly fit any of these flavor profiles or is it a lil bit overpriced/overhyped/

My best CC would be Bolivar Churchill Tubos from 01 that I had for my birthday back in May. Nice really full flavoured but super smooth, went perfect with a coffee.

My best NC would be OPUS X Fuente Fuente from 98 or 99. New years eve smoke a couple of years ago

So many, I feel fortunate

Two come to mind right now

80s RyJ Celestiales Finos
97 RyJ Exhibition #4

It's funny I'm not a huge RyJ guy but these two cigars are etched in my memory. I never new cigars could taste that sublime.
