Any-1 here like, love or have old VW Splits or Ovals??? Anything 57 & older...

Here is my current project I'm working on. It is from august 1953. This hace become a life time project. With a wife, kids & all the things that come with being an adult. They all really take your time & money making it hard to complete.

I would love to have an old restored Westfalia, but not enough to pay what it would cost me.

Yes, love 'em!

You SoCal'ing it, I presume?
I'm more of a combi/camper fan... If I weren't house hunting, I'd be snapping up my buddies splitscreen for resto... well, I would if I could afford it!

My first car was a black 63 bug. Used to love to "race" corvettes on the interstate. With that said, it was no surprise that I got my first speeding ticket with my VW ... 80 in a 70 mph zone. Tought I could talk my way out of it by telling the patrolman that this bug wouldn't go 80 mph.

68 Squareback (AKA, "The stabin' Cabin") with a 2 liter stroker motor, when it wasn't on fire it was ON FIRE! I loved that car and used to run it at the Bug Ins at OCIR a half million years ago. I also had a 65 bus with the reduction gears stripped and and 1800, it was fun too.

Very nice project you have going!

NICE, I had a 62 bus/truck I sold a few years back. I just did not have the time or $$ for it & it hurt when I sold it... :sh

You should also check out THESAMBA.COM for parts. That is a very similar site to this one(CA) -(P

I still want one of those 23 window buses, or whatever they are called. The ones with all of the windows that open up.

Edit: Here's a link to one. It's just bad azz. http://www.leftcoastclassics.com/1966-vw-21-window-bus/

Perhaps you meant 'any fans of old VWs?' :r Although he's young, my BIL has a VW Thing that he restored to all of its glory. Looks great! Just waiting for a ride in it. :tt

I like the old and new VW stuff. One of my faves was their van/bus/camper. When I was a kid, we met a man at our favorite campground who had one, and I always wanted one after that. Dad had 3 or 4 friends with Bugs, and I can't tell you how many engine builds he did for them. He always like working on them. When I was a teenager, Baja Bug conversions were all the rage among the mud junkies here in the Sticks.

Drive, and love, a diesel Jetta right now.

My college roommate's dad had a VW truck. I would love to find one and get it, that thing was cool.

Good luck on your project!
