I got a promotion today at work, but it came at the price of a close coworker losing their job. I wish it didn't have to be like this. I really feel lousy. What a crappy and stressful day.

Off to school, and just to make the lousiness worse, it's math class and we have a quiz.

Good news about the promotion. Sucks about the coworker!!! Perhaps they will find something better. Will say a prayer for them.

That can happen in any industry. It is difficult. Good luck in your promotion, and to the guy that you replaced, hopefully he has good options.
