I don't believe for a minute that Comcast purchasing the network had nothing to do with this. Then again, I don't care.

Man, I crucified that post.... My point was, Keith kicks arse on ESPN and they will not pay him...and that is unfortunate.

Well we did have Version Fios installed on Wednesday and we canceled Comcast yesterday so I am gonna assume it is all my fault. :tf

Someone is going to get blamed for it, either you or Bill O'Reilly!

Probably going to be the new White House press secretary once Robert Gibbs leaves in February. Remember you heard it here first.

Oh please let it be BillO! I promise I'll never abandon a poorly executed media conglomerate again.

First thought that popped into my head as well!
Who wouldn't want to see the daily banter between him and the media he worked for for so many years?!

Political affliliations aside, dude came across as a pompous ass. Hard to process someone's ideology when you have to cut through the smarm. :2

I actually thought this thread was staying perfectly NON political. Until now.

The good ole days.:tu

I'm glad to see him go from MSNBC though. Political differences aside, this guy was a complete ass on his show. Some people can be an ass and get away with it b/c they're funny, like Bill Maher, but Olbermann just came across as an unlikeable ass (except when he's talking about sports).

I was listening to Mad Dog Radio on XM today, and there are suggestions (or negotiations) that he may go back to sports talk on that station. I must say, I liked him much better when he was doing sports.;)

I did like them together back on ESPN. I haven't seen Olbermann visit the new Dan Patrick show - I am sure it is good to see them revisit their old 'shtick.

As far as Dan Patrick's show by itself I really don't like it. I don't think he is very good at off the cuff sports commentary. And please put down the fricking basketball or golf club for a minute. Just because you can dribble a basketball doesn't add to your sports commentary. I much prefer 'Mike and Mike in the morning'.

Of note, and I might be wrong, but Olbermann was the only former ESPN commentator not asked back to the latest ESPN (??) year gala reunion. He burned a lot of bridges with ESPN, and the ashes are still smoldering and will prevent his return.

I watched his latest show to glean some info from his obvious hyperbole. I thought he was so over the top sometimes I wondered if a good bit of it was an act to keep the pot stirred up and consequently his contract price too. But judging from his acrimonious departure from ESPN, I suspect his discourteous and surly demeanor is part and parcel of who he is.

Those bridges are gonna smolder forever IMO. I don't dislike the guy, but he sure does seem to leave destruction in his wake.

I hope they're not looking to supplant the Dino Costa Experience with him. Dino's a wild man, but I enjoy listening to him.

I liked Olbermann/Patrick also, but really didn't care for him on NBC's football stuff.

Speaking of Olbermann/Patrick, I miss the old Steiner/Lee combo from earlier days on ESPN. Steiner was pretty funny, and the two did a good job as a team.

No...they're talking about him taking over the morning slot...I guess before Russo. It was Costa on his Sat show talking about it. I like Dino too. :tu

Well he is still cashing checks from MSNBC and will be for quite some time so this sounds like keeping busy to me. Either way, he is effectively out of the picture. Is it too much to ask that we send all the talking heads of all political stripes out to pasture?
