I'm not crazy about the Gs, they are ok. The Os, Vs, Master Blend, and whatever else they make I love.

Oliva G, V, O there all good, just depneds on your pallet. Personally i cant say weather a cigar is good or not. Bc it all depends on the person. So to say a cigar is bad, i cant really do that but there all diffrent.

The G's aren't great, but for the price they're pretty good, same with the O's if you're in the mood for something different. The V's however are amazing, one of my favorites, just be sure to eat a meal before hand, they pack a punch

I didn't care for the G's, didn't like the O's either. I think the V's are a great cigar though. The red cloth band is great too.

Taste is taste, smoke what you like, like what you smoke. It's that simple, really. I like Oliva blends myself.

The red cloth band is great too.

:tpd: If you see these for sale, grab them! :dr

On the other hand, if you haven't had luck with Olivas so far, maybe try moving on to something else. What was it you didn't like about the G and the O? Consider that, then find a cigar that isn't like that.

I tend to enjoy there maduro cigars the problem with them is they are a tad pricy and always grab a Padron over them at that price point

I like Oliva...not one of my favorite brands but they do make good stuff. I like the G and V series. Also don't forget that Oliva also makes Nub and Cain. I love the Cain F's...very strong cigars with a nice flavor to them.

Now, on to your question. For Oliva, just as for any other cigar, you need to find what you like and smoke them. There may be no Oliva you like. Personally, I cannot get enough of the Vs. I also enjoy the Connecticut reserves, although I think I'm an odd duck on that. I am not a big fan of the Gs, and I only enjoy a few Os.

Peace of the Lord be with you.

In my opinion they are the best brand from top to bottom. I like V's, Masterblends, Conneticut Reserves and Cain F's. O's and G's are great cigars for occasional cigar smokers as well. :tu

i have heard good things about the master blend, but i have yet to try it. The Oliva Red/Blue band cigars are great for the money...20 cigars for $35, or something like that.

I like the Georges Reserve from Famous Cigars. Good flavor and construction. They run deals on them from time to time.

In fact, most of their sticks are good when aged. I've never had one that I enjoyed right out of the cello

Just curious... how long do you guys let your Olivas sit in the humi before lighting them up. It seems to me anyway the the Serie V and O are a little more sensitive and need that sitting time. I like to give them at least 2 1/2 months in the humi

This man knows his Oliva's and I'm with him on this one! The MBs are good but IMO they aren't worth the extra money when comparing it to the Vs.

Have you compared the OR lancero V's to the new batches? To me there is a difference.

All the Cains are good (especially the F) and all pre 2010 V maduros are good (the new one with the mexican wrapper is not very good).

I would assume no because I started trying lanceros this year. What year is the OR for the V lancero and which do you prefer?

The original V Lancero came out I want to say mid 2007. It's easily recognizable and you may have smoked one without knowing it. The OR V's have no cello.

I prefer the OR V. Maybe it's all in my mind :tf but I think they taste more refined and less spicy.

Possibly because it has age on it? I am curious if the wrapper or filler is different. I believe all the ones I've smoked and currently own have cello.

I am not comparing OR to current release in the present. I am talking about how they tasted when I bought them. The OR's right out of the box tasted better to me than do the current release right out of the box. Just my :2

+1 for the V. The G and O were OK for me, the V was another world. Easily top 5 favorites. As others have said, smoke what you like. But I know what it's like to hear people keep raving about a brand and to have bad luck with it. IMO, Try a V and if you don't like it, move on to another brand!

I just smoked a V Maduro with my buddy Foster 3 days ago from last years batch that has been aging in my walk-in since...

What an excellent smoke. Smoothed out quite nicely, really subtle and complex flavors. I will age 1 box from this year to do the same next year.
