I was on the fence, almost went to the droid side, then decided to not ditch something that has worked for 2 years...
Had the Storm and now Storm2 - but just upgraded one of my daughters Storm to the Droid 2 and I have to say that in about 4 months I will seriously be looking at the Droid X.
The speed on that Droid 2 pretty much leaves the Storm in the dust.
Until then though - I'm with you -

same here. i went from the storm to the droid. world of difference.
The BB OS just started having to many problems and crap ton of memory leak issues.
rooted my droid and now run the Ultimate Droid OS. Amazing.
But, if BB can get something worth while and with Verizon, then i might consider going back
send me an invite to the group please!

Have the Storm2 and have really had no problems with it. I have about 13 G of music on it that I listen to all the time, also use the web all the time on it, with wifi when I can. Love the BBM much better then using txt so thats also a bonus. So overall I am happy with it.
My wife also uses the same phone but always has some kind of complaint and wants a iPhone, I know some people LOL.
Droid is a pretty bada$$ phone and I have been thinking I may be trying it in another year when its time for me to get a new phone. But now BB is coming out with the PlayBook and the new QNX operating system and talk of it coming to the phones sometime next year. If they put the QNX OS into a phone it will be as good or better then any other phone out there and I will stay with BB.

Got a 9700 bold, upgrade day has just arrived. If I didn't use BBM to keep in contact with my friends, I'd probably switch to HTC. But, BBM is amazing, and I've no actual complaints about by 9700. Therefore, I will be going in to the store and testing out the Torch, although I'm pretty sure I already want it :r

Just ditched my Blackberry for the Droid Thunderbolt. Hate to ruin the party but it's light years ahead of my Berry other than the lackluster battery life which is where the BBs tend to shine but my Tour served me well for two years.

I was a BB user til last year, and went to the Droid Side. You don't know the power of the Droid Side!
We do still have a BB in the family. My 12 year old has a Storm 2, and he can't wait for me or my wife to upgrade and kick a Droid down to him.
I do miss all the tweaking I did with the OS on my Storm, that was good times...good times.

FYI I have been reading that BBM will be released to all platforms, and by the end of the year. Have even read it on crackberry dot com. There are also other Instant Msg apps out there that can already be used on other phones including BB. So I would not let BBM make your mind up for you.
In 3 months I will be getting something besides a BB, maybe by the time that contract is up they will have a QNX OS for their phones and I will go back.

So how do you like it after a couple days? Was it easy to learn how to use? I played with one at the store when they came out last week and that thing was freaking fast when using the web browser!! But I have 3 more months before I can upgrade.

Are they free free? That is to say, will they take up none of my data or text allowance? That is the beauty of BBM for me, anywhere in the world, it's free, independent of any roaming charges!

Of course when the BBM reaches other platforms it will be the same, and from what I have read the other IMs work the same way. You will have to search them I don't have any names off hand.

just did a quick search, and while they work the same way, it would be from my data plan, which would mean hideous roaming charges (£6/$10 per MB, charged to the nearest 1/2 MB in Europe), whereas I pay £5/mo to be connected to the BBE server world wide. This means if someone sent me a couple of photos, and I had an extended chat over one of the other IM clients while in France, I could be facing an extra £10-£15/$20-$30 on my monthly bill, whereas with a BB using BBM, I could send and receive a million photos and do nothing but message my friends for a month solid while in India and only pay £5.
You have to remember, I live in Europe, and where I am, I can be in France quicker than I can be half way up the country!

Haha, no worries! I freely admit... I am quite taken with the HTC Desire, but I am unimpressed with the decision to remove the fold out keyboard from the HD.
