Hi guys...I'm doing a cost analysis and thinking about purchasing a new home. From your experience what would it cost to replace an 50yr old gas furnace and bring in a new one using all existing duct work?

I know its tough to say but im just looking for a rough estimate.

Any info is appreciated. :tu

Probably around 3k to replace the furnace and do the associated plenum work.
It's a pretty heavy markup because there tons of dicking around time involved. The old furnace will probably come out and the new one will go in in a day, but it'll likely take two guys and shop support.
I used to put furnaces in on my weekends for 400 bucks plus cost.
My buddy just got a price yesterday for a direct replacement and it was $2700.

Just did ours a year ago. Very similar situation.

Heater/A-Coil with plenum work was $3,000. (Included a 100,000BTU 92% AFUE Upflow Furnace and 3.5 Ton coil)

Outside A/C unit was replaced too. It was a 14 SEER 3.5 Ton unit. $2000 installed.

We had quotes as high as $10,000 for the same work from different places. SHOP AROUND.
Just make sure you're doing an apples to apples comparison.
