So all I keep reading about here is how great Tats are and I'm yet to try one. I see them come up on the devil site, but even there they are not cheap.
Can you guys suggest where to start? I generally like full flavored smokes.
Thanks in advance:tu

Why not pick up a fiver of the 7th or reserve?
I like the Havana VI but that's far from full flavored.

Mark, youre in NY... Im sure you can find a tobacconist locally that carries them Then you can buy a stick or two without shelling out 60 bucks on a fiver.

p.s. Dont listen to all the posts that tell you to save your money and buy this, or buy that... try a Tat and then decide for yourself if they are worth the money or not.

Damn, even the shop on Lexington is that far?? Are you upstate?
Try HoltsDOTcom. They have a good selection. I prefer the Havana VI (red label) line. And those little Verocu #9s are mighty tasty. http://www.holts.com/category.html?id=198763&trail=86665

Try the Havana Cazadore for full flavor.
Personally, I think the Noella is a great place to start, and probably finish in the Tat line and they won't break the bank either.

I would start out with the Havana VI line and go from there. They may not be as full bodied but they are a great stick especially the Artista and they are still very affordable.:2

Personally, I think you should start where Tat started, with the brown labels. IMO, that's what Tatuaje is all about. And then you can go from there.
My favorite is the line is the Noella. If you like a Petite Corona, they're pretty damn hard to beat.

Didn't try them for a long time because there wasn't a local B&M that carried them (that I knew of). Was out of town for business and there was a B&M that had the Havana VI's and Seleccion De Cazador's. Let's just say it was all downhill from there :tu
You could try something like this (http://www.famous-smoke.com/famous+best+of+tatuaje+sampler+cigars/item+29613) if you wanted to get a taste of a few different Pete Johnson sticks. They're all pretty dang good!

I love the Tatuaje Black Tubos, some love em, some hate em, but they are the best that I've had out of the Tatuaje line, but I've only had the Havana VI, and the Cojonu 2003, along with a few brown labels that I don't know what kind they were.
I also think Pete's other blends are definately a try, the El Truinfador is my favorite cigar I've had out of everything, and the Cabaiguan is another favorite, especially in Maduro

You never know until you try them. Everyone's palate is different and you might really dig something out of the line that isn't popular with others.
Some of my favorites off the top of my head were
Red Label: Victoria, Angel
Brown Label: Especiale, Noellas
Cabaiguan: Coronas Extra, Petite Cabaiguan
Cabaiguan Guapos: Guapos Junior- Petite Corona Natural
Reserva: J21
La Riqueza: No.1 Lonsdale, No.5 Petite Corona
OR east/west regionals

The sampler on that link offers a good chance to try a few lines. Was going to be my suggestion as well. :tu

If you want to try some Tats without spending a lot, look for the new Petit Cazadores Reserva and the Verocu #5. They are both great little cigars for around $4+ and will give you the chance to taste the broadleaf wrappers and the popular red label verocu line at half the cost of the bigger cigars.
I know New Havana Cigars has 5ers for sale, but if you don't find any singles anywhere, you should email NHC to see if he could sell you a small sampler.

For me, the best of the regular production brown labels is the new 7th. My favorite viola and I think he best in the brown label.

If you like full bodied, full flavored cigars, don't get a JJ. They are very mild.

7th, J21, Petite Caz, all good, as are most of the rest of the Tats of course.

The majority of Tat's are not cheap when compared to say General cigars. But they are imo much more tasty. I would say the best representation of Tatuaje is the J21. I have had most every Tat and that is the one that I associate with Tat's.

I finally picked up a few 5ers and a sampler. I've so far tried the El Triunfador and Red. Both were on the mild to medium side but full of flavor. . . I think I am starting to get the hype.

Nice selection there. I'm partial to the Cabaiguan. I like his other stuff fine, but nothing has been as consistent as the Cabs.
Had a brown label PC just a couple days ago that I almost set down. I'm glad I didn't because it became OK after an inch or so, but it didn't impress me at all, not to mention the HUGE stem that was "pigtailed" right under where I cut the cap.

If I can make a suggestion, try using a punch on the white label instead of a cutter. The first I smoked with a cut, and I got tobacco bits in my mouth for the entire smoke (I actually put it down half way because of it)
68TriShiled suggest using a punch and the next one I had was a completely different smoke. Very good for a $3-$4 cigar :tu

What Moe said, in general I like to punch all of my smokes. I only cut them if they are plugged.
