So, my wife is an interior designer, and she needs to have AutoCad reinstalled on her computer. It was installed on her last computer and that was running windows xp 32 bit. The problem is, this computer is Windows vista 64 bit and it is saying that the program is not compatible. I've tried using the compatibility wizard, but that doesn't help. The reason she needs cad now and hasn't for the past 2 years is that she thought she would just be writing a thesis. Now her professors are wanting her to add concept drawings from cad to her thesis and she does not have access to cad anywhere. Is there any way to install this version of autocad, which by the way is autocad 2005 on this computer? Any help is MUCH appreciated.

It seems like you don't have any cds to install it.

You could dual boot windows 32 bit and 64 bit and just shut down and restart to move between programs.

You could get a 64 bit AutoCad and install that on your current system.

Shoot me a PM I could talk to you about options.

I have the install cd, but can't get it to load onto win vista 64. How is it possible to boot windows 32 bit? Would I have to buy a new version of windows?

No, just install windows on another hard drive. Dual boot windows, when you start up your computer you'll be given the option 32 bit or 64. There are easier ways to going about this which I cannot mention here.

After some quick googling it appears there are programs that might help you with this.

Apparently, while I know nothing about AutoCad, this site might help you as well

If none of this works, send me a pm.
