So.. earlier today I was smoking an A. Fuente Exquisito on a short drive to the store when i noticed somthing sticking out of the cigar. I gave it a pull, and I found a long black hair that looked to be human. Since it's a medium filler cigar I wasn't all that surprised. A little disgusted, but not surprised. Then, After dinner tonight I grabbed a MOW from the humi, clipped the cap and found this sticking out

It appears to be some kind of pink plastic fiber.. Now maybe I just had bad luck, but I imagine I would have been able to taste that thing burning. Have any of you guys ever found foreign objects in your cigars?

I remember reading a thread back on cigarlive a long time ago. Some had a piece of gum in there cigar! The funny thing was I remember him saying something like it tasted awesome. He probably thought he was getting some kind of spearmint flavor. I just remember laughing my A$$ off. :r I wish I could find that thread again.

That's horrible.. A hair or fiber I can understand, but gum? How the hell does that just slip in there?

I have no idea. He had picture of him opening the cigar. It was all inside the binder and filler lol.

Considering how cigars are made through the entire process, I would wager there are quite a few with a hair or fiber included. I have never seen a torcedor wearing a hair net.

I found such fibers in a cigar I bought at the convenience store. It sucked really bad. However, I have not found any fibers in mine since then.

I had a big long thick black hair in one of my cigars once. I've had lots of sticks in them, or rock hard stems and leave parts.
It's gonna happen. Doesn't bother me at all.

Holy cow this thread is freaking me out. Opening up cigars is sounding a lot like opening up sharks, you don't know what weird crap you will find.

This doesn't bother me, you guys all eat out at restaurants right? I'll stop there. Though I would prefer to never find anything in my cigars, it's not going to be a big deal if I do.

If it doesn't affect the taste of the cigar I'm fine with it. I would just hate to dismiss a cigar as one I didn't enjoy because there was burning hair in it :-/

This thread is about as gross as reading about stuff they put in hamburger in the meat plants. Don't wanna know and don't wanna find it myself.

I dont have a problem knowing that there are tobacco beetle eggs in the cigars I smoke, I just have a hard time knowing that hair and gum, something not natural, has made itis way in.

Heh, guess I shouldn't tell you about the band-aid, paperclip, plastic shavings, a nail and other stuff a friend of mine in the cigar sales business has found/seen in premium cigars....

Anyone who is afraid to smoke your suspicious, unclean cigars send them to me. Shoot after working in fast food I've realized nothing is ever clean.

:r:r

That's why I've never worked or will work in fast food.

Found twigs in my macanudo today. Still smoked it...had to dissect it 80% through though.

That sucks, though not all that surprising. Someone mentioned that running a hair through random cigarettes in a pack was a great stop smoking aid. Apparently they taste so bad that the fear of getting that random stick keeps you from smoking. After hearing that I always figured I'd know if there was a hair in my cigar...perhaps not.

I have never found anything that didn't burn and never looked that closely.
I do have a whole box of cut open RyJs that a customs agent at an airport found on me. I think I will look through it and see.

I found a similar fiber in a CAO gold a few years ago. I contacted the company about my disgust (thinking it was green dental floss) and received a reply from their PR person. She told me that it was a fiber from the twine they use to tie the tobacco hands (bundles) together. She asked for my address, and a few days later I received a very nice sampler from CAO.

Looks like the fiber they use to tie the tobacco together during processing.

Happened to me a long time ago. Found binding twine down almost the entire length of a Fuente Don Carlos robusto.

I guess it comes from chewing leaf tobacco for years but I'm fairly used to finding stems, dirt grain, rocks, and binding in my tobacco.

I've found just about everything in my chaw.

In my cigars, however not so much. I have found some dirt grain (I have a habit of chewing my ends when I smoke it down to lip burning point heh)

But thats about it.

If this stuff freaks you out...I hope you guys don't eat vegetables. Next time you're at the grocery store, ask someone in the produce department to tell you about the weirdest stuff they've seen in the pallets from South America. I don't want to turn anyone off healthy foods, so I'll spare you the details...

Ya, this thread looks exactly like the ribbons they use to tie hands of tobacco together and also the ones they use to string them up in the curing barns.

I've come to terms with cigars being pretty dirty since the tobacco is never washed and it touches lots of hands. I think it is just part of the territory.
