NLCS: Giants vs. Phillies

Predictions? :D

Looks like pitching vs. pitching on the surface. Because it is a 7 game series it will be interesting to see how each pitcher does the second time around. Something tells me it could be a sweep or will go to 7 games. :2

When the playoffs started I thought SF was the only NL team that could take down Philly.
The Phills have pitched lights out though.
Halladay vs Lincecum should be great

elderboy02

Philly. If they shut down the Reds who were the top offensive team in the NL, I would be worried if I were a Giants fan.

Gotta agree....PHILLY! :D.....That being said, I wish we were playing the Braves...Should be a good one

Advantage Phillies. Both teams can pitch, but the Phillies have a much better offense.

Just remember though, they also scared me last year as my Yankees weren't given much of a chance.
Anything can happen in the post season.

I think the Giants will win the series at home in 5 games. They will lose one in Philly, and win out in San Francisco:2

Phillies pitching has been good too. I just see SF pitching shutting down the Phillies. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the Giants are going to score 10 runs a game on Phillies pitching or anything. They will be close games.

I think the phills are softer after Halladay than the Giants are after Lincicum.
Oswalt and Hammels are Good and really pitched well down the stretch, they just don't scare me the way Cain and Sanchez do.

I also am worried that Halladay may be a little strong in his start, after the no-no and all the rest.
Have the same worry's about CC for the Yanks

Interesting matchup this afternoon. Cain doesn't have very good numbers against the Phillies, and Hamels is not as good during the day than at night.

Hamels - Career Day/Night splits:
ERA - 4.27/3.20
WHIP - 1.35/1.10
AVG - .270/.229

Cain - Career vs Phils
0-3, 6.23 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, .262 AVG

Could be a higher scoring game today.

Go Phils!

Tough loss for the Phils. It's gonna be awfully tough coming back from a 3-1 hole, but I'm not giving up hope.

How bad was the home plate umpire tonight? If it weren't for what he must have thought was a 24 inch home-plate, there probably would have been double the number of runs. I thought his zone was horrible, for both sides. I know...at least he was consistent...and for the most part he was, but jeez. Posey proved most apt to adjust. He's an impressive young player, and it seems he has a good demeanor to match.

Congratulations to all of you Giants fans. After rattling Sanchez early last night, I thought the Phillies would pull a win out last night...but it was not to be. The clutch hits the Phillies were able to get in the two past years never came.

Now I have to figure out who to root for...the Giants since they're an NL team, or the Rangers, with Cliff Lee who I really like? Decisions, decisions.
