View Full Version : Smoking 2 cigars simultaneously...

I've learned from PPPs that having more than 1 cigar at a time helps pinpont flavors and makes both cigars better (unless you are smoking crap... :r).

I've been doing this occasionally and have some reviews written up (which I'll post up sometime later).

Tonight, I got out of work and lit a 97 LGC MdO #4... it just wasn't doing it... sparked up a 99 Hoyo de Depute and all those great LGC flavors were pointed out to me like someone giving me a second opinion... made the Hoyo better, too.

Anyone else do this, or am I a lunatic (or both)?

I haven't purposely lit more than one cigar, but I've found myself enjoying the comparison on more than one occasion... Your not (completely ;)) nuts, Dan.

I urge you all to try it sometime and see if it makes the experience better like it does for me. It's really fascinating...

I've done the root beer tasting with the La Escepion Longos and a '92 Monte Joyita. Lots of interesting sweet flavors that you did not get from either by itself, but not quite root beer. I have one more pairing to try at another time.:dr

I had a Longo but didn't have the 92 Joyita... I was planning on holding out until I found the Joyita, but I just decided to smoke the Longo at Shack.

Therefore, I did not get root beer... :r

I find that when I try this one smoke tends to just overpower the other. I always wind up deciding I just couldn't taste the weaker smoke.

No Peter but he's pretty damn close... :lr

Never tried it alone. I get what you mean about being similar to a PPP. I think it would be best if both were similar in body. If one was a full flavored/full bodied and the other on the mild/med end, it would be difficult to enjoy the nuance of the milder smoke.

This has been proven to be the case in flavor studies I have read. The study shows that the weaker stimuli will get overpowered by the stronger one.

Here's one of mine. :tu I think it's awesome every so often. Sometimes at the B&M I'll light up a second one as the first is finishing, to compare.

Done this several times, but with the same cigar of different years. very use full.
I learned this from an american smoker that lives (I think ) in Chigago area (FN ).

Completely different from the PPP where, IMHO, too many cigars go around so after a bit you loose almost all.But this is my personal opinion.
