Personally I think this season is at least as good, and in many ways better, than all of the previous seasons. Yet I know 5 "die hard" fans that say they feel disconnected and seem to have lost traction with the show.

Anyone else getting vibes like this?

I'll hate to see it end but I would so much rather it go out accelerating rather than fizzling like so many shows do

This show just took it up a notch! :tu How is it going to get any more crazy than last night.

Remember last year several of us agreed that the season finally was pretty 'lastluster'. I believe they are making up for it right now.

Not very often that I find myself anticipating the next episode.

Gophernut

This was one of the best episodes I have seen, if not the best. Definitely the most tension! Loved the exchange between Ronnie and Steve about date #1 ending up at Ronnies!

gpugliese

I'll be curious to see if Vic turning in his badge makes him useless to Pazuela (and ultimately ICE).

I can't wait to see who's left standing in the end. In the past, I figured Ronnie would be the only one left... but after his bad-ass plot lines in this season, I wouldn't be too surprised if he meets his death as well.

Corrine is such a little *****.

She was always the weak link; Cavanaugh saw it first and exploited it. Now she's going to be the one who undoes Mackey, if the plotline holds.

Anyone else think Mackey might be headed to his last roundup?

I agree Corrine must be killed. She knows too much. Wait, sorry I got caught up in the moment. I think the writers have built up Mackey too much just to let him get killed by that punk Shane. I'm really suprized we haven't seen more of Tavon (sp?). Maybe he's the one that kills Shane.

It would be just, precisely the kind of perverse plot twist that Sutter would love to leave us with to have Shane survive and Mackey die.

But no, Shane is too much of a punk in the end to cap Mackey.

What do you think Admiral?

What's going to happen? I think Claudette and Dutch are going to take Vic down, by force. I get that feeling and it's just the kind of twist the writers would throw at us.

Does Dutch even have a gun? :r I just don't see anything happening to Vic. After 8 seasons of making Vic out to be a bad ass I highly doubt he can be taken down by mere mortals.

This show keeps getting better and better. I'm enjoying how they are spending "quality" time with Shane & family, almost as if they are working towards some sort of redemption for them, while bedeviling Vic & Ronnie and foreshadowing their downfall.

But then again with these writers, they could easily throw the entire show 180*, which is the awesome part!

My thoughts exactly. Ronnie is getting the short end of the shaft. Vic hanging him out to dry to save the two faced Corrine really bugs me.

Darrell

Yeah, Ronnie is going to end up finding out that Vic took the immunity deal and is leaving him out to dry.

I can't think of any scenario that doesn't end with Vic not getting shot. I almost want to put my money on Claudette after her "episode" last night. Leaving Ronnie out to dry will in some form or fashion be the end of Vic.

I'm a bit disappointed Vic didn't meet a slug, but I guess the desk job is the next worst thing that could have happened to him.

3 years in a suit pushing paper is 10x worse than jail for him, because the "police work" is so close yet so out of his grasp... his family is gone and there's nothing he can do about it either.

Cigary

Love the show,,,last episode,,,not so much

Darrell
11-25-2008, 11:15 PM
That was seriously a lame ending to an epic series. Yea, Vic will be miserable riding a desk, but this could have ended so much better.

I'm real disappointed.

icehog3
11-25-2008, 11:25 PM
Vic ended up with a fate, that to him, would be far worse than Shane's or Ronnie's.

But did you see that look in his eye as he left? ;)

Ron1YY
11-26-2008, 04:50 AM
For such a great series you would think that they would have written a better ending than this. I'm very disappointed in the way the shield ended.

rack04
11-26-2008, 07:45 AM
Dissapointing episode, but a great segway into the movie. Hopefully the rumors are true.

Read (http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2008/11/shield-boss-ans.html?iid=top25-20081126-SPOILER+ALERT%3A+'Shield'+Boss+Answers+Burning+Fin ale+Qs) Shawn Ryan's thoughts on the final episode.

Ken
11-26-2008, 08:12 AM
Well, the end for Shane and family really sucked for them. Had a good (bad) feeling of what they were going to find in the bedroom when Shane shot himself.

With Shane's suicide and Ronnie being arrested while Vic walks, I think that end works to show the true evil of Vic. Work will kill him at the desk, but he will brush all his sins off and be Vic on his off hours. Vic may have some compassion and you could tell the saddening in him looking at the photos, but the monster inside is a greater force.

dunng
11-26-2008, 08:17 AM

Regarding Dutch Wagenbach, Ryan said he cast Jay Karnes' real-life wife as Billings' lawyer. The move was meant to further suggest that Dutch would finally find a successful romantic partner.

Too funny.

I think that what we were left with is similar to how the Shield started. Vic grabbed his gun with the look in his eye of "I'm going to do whatever the hell I want" and left. This was soon after he heard and saw the lights of the police car which flipped that switch in his head. Just my thoughts.....

Shane's murder/suicide scene had an eerie Chris Benoit type feeling to it. It made me wonder if the writers got the idea for this scene from the Benoit murder/suicide, as there we some similarities in it and the scene.

All in all not a bad ending, the one thing that would drive vic mad, a desk job.

If you can get "Sons of Anarchy" on On Demand, I think you might enjoy it.

No other police dramas are filling the drama void, but I am looking forward to "Rescue Me" next month to at least have something fun to watch.

We had seen ads (while watching TS) and taped an episode. Just watched it this morning, and even though it was difficult watching mid-series (it was the 10th episode) -- we're hooked! The On-Demand is showing only 11 and 12 episodes now, so I guess we wait for DVD.

Thanks for the tip :tu
