Hey I used to live 20 minutes from Cleveland, TN. That and the Volkswagen plant should be helping the people up there a bunch.

I've always liked Whirlpool products (own a number of them) and now I like them even more!

Whirlpool considered sites in Mexico and elsewhere in the U.S. before opting to replacing a century-old factory in Cleveland, Tenn., where it assembles built-in cooking ranges and ovens. It will add 130 staff to an existing work force of 1,500.

Tennessee and local governments committed to providing Whirlpool with about $45 million in tax breaks, abatements and grants to offset the company's costs of building the plant.

It's nice to have jobs here in the U.S. It'd be really nice if state/local governments didn't have to bribe corporations for them. I have no idea what the ROI is on the $45M, but given that it's a mid-term election year, it probably doesn't matter.
