A friend of a fellow Dutch Botl (and a good friend of mine, regular herf buddy) is traveling to Chicago for work and offered to bring some cigars back. Now he needs to know what B&M is worth visiting.

That's the one I recommended him, based on the reviews. Any others worth visiting?

In the city, Iwan Ries is nice.

19 South Wabash Avenue
Chicago, IL 60603
(800) 621-1457

If he makes it outside the city, I like Cigar King in Skokie, although more for their smoking area than their cigar selection.

8016 North Lincoln Avenue
Skokie, IL 60077-3610

I'm glad this thread was started, I'm heading about 20 minutes away from Chicago (Hammond, IN) on the 10th for a wedding.

You gonna make it to Chicago on your trip? If you need directions or anything please feel free to contact me. Also, if you're a pipe guy you definitely want to check out Iwan Ries; they're a couple blocks away from us. Have a safe trip.

great thread

Jack Schwartz looks great, but the hours of operation have them closing at 5, which is a problem for me. I will be in town for business and probably be in meetings until 7-8 PM before I can enjoy myself.

Anyone know of a place open until 10-11 that allows smoking?

Updown is open until 11PM Mon-Thur, and midnight Fri and Sat.

1550 N. Wells,
Chicago, IL 60610
(800) 5-UPDOWN

Never been inside, so I can't speak to their smoking accomodations, James. But I do know most of the B&Ms in the city proper close shortly after business hours. so this might be your best option downtown.
