It was absolutely his wife and kid. In the scene immediately after the woman is kissing the guy in the tent, it cuts to the patrol car the main character is driving and he pulls down the visor to show a photo of him with his wife & kid.

I just started watching "Survivors" which appears to be the Walking Dead without the Dead Walking. Just stay dead. This is just the Survivors and what happens after an epidemic.

If you dig end of the world type ****, this is for you!

From what I've read online AMC already renewed The Walking Dead for a second 13 episode season before the first episode of season 1 aired.

The 4400 had a very limited 'First Season'. It was actually just a mini-series that got picked up. So maybe that is what they were thinking with this one. Mini Series that goes full-on next year?

Me and my buds were waiting for this to come on Halloween and was completely blown away by how good it was.. As a long-time horror fanatic, it is great to see a zombie tv show, let alone a good and gory one. AMC is great. I have never read what it is based on though.

Love the show, movie quality in a tv show.

The show evokes a very erie feeling. The first episode was amazing, no music, minimal surprises, just plain flate-out dispair. They do such a good job of portraying the hoplessness of the situation (them being alone, the last of the survivors).

When he climbed up into the tank I felt like i was there. I could understand his emotions. Such a great story/production team.

I can not get over episode 4! I was seriously riled up after I watched it! I have only read a few pages of the comic, but after seeing these episodes and knowing that I will have to wait for a year in two weeks for the next season, I might have to borrow them from my friend and read through them all!

Merle is a very disturbed human being.

The series is not following the Graphic Novels. As an example, there is no Merle in the comics.

I won't give anymore away as some themes and small bits are caring through.


The series is GREAT and so are the comics....just different.

Four was easily the high point of the series thus far. A fantastic series even without this episode though!

There are similar events that cross between the comic and the show but if you've read the comic you'd know that some things just wouldn't be able to be shot and adjustments would be needed.

The Governor's storyline as an example is just way to disturbing for a TV show. It was borderline too disturbing for the comic!

I was happy to see a lot more character development this episode, Dale really came through to the front as he has been a bit in the background up until now. A lot of the comic series deals with trying to retain your humanity in a world that's so inhumane, I was glad to see that carry over into the show.

I agree. The whole nursing home scene played out like a Family Channel thing and left too little time for the zombie attack on the camp. The heroes arriving just in time to save most of the camp was kinda silly as well.

Season finale was not the cliffhanging, nail biter I was hoping for. So the big unawsered question is "what now"? But that's always the big unawsered question. There's no burning sub-plot that has me chomping at the bit for season 2. :(

Why didn't the writers just have him say "pretty please open the door"? :rolleyes:
It was awful and his character is quickly degenerating into the stereotypical crybaby /torn hero.
This show needs a Sarah Connor type character. Someone who is willing to do anything to survive without remorse and isn't viewed negatively for it.
Anyone who wants to use violence to survive is portrayed as a dumb hillbilly (Merle and Daryl) or self destructive (Shayne).
I found it funny that Dale didn't make the same offer to stay behind to save the Black girl, Jacqui.
I also found the most real moment to be when Ricks wife, after living on the side of a mountain for two months,
spends one night in the CDC, and complains that the air conditioning turned off.
Did they bring my wife in to consult on the script?

If that was one step below a nuke, then they would have been incinerated, being that close to the building. And setting the air on fire? Nope...can't really happen. Plus, if it could, with that crashed out window, it would have extended further beyond the building than it did. OK, enough with the technicalities. LOL

Just wish it wasn't going to be a year until the next season starts. Still gotta watch the first few episodes. Will have to check when the reruns will be on, or maybe see if it's on Apple TV.

I enjoyed the final episode, and am looking forward to season 2, but some of the grandiose speeches seemed out-of-place, along with the weak explosion.

There were some sequences in the final episode that reminded me of some of the made-for-tv Stephen King movies with mediocre acting and lame effects.

Even some of the earlier episodes seemed better to me, like the final one was rushed or something.

Hopefully there's enough excitement and money behind it to bump up the production values for the next season.

If that was one step below a nuke, then they would have been incinerated, being that close to the building. And setting the air on fire? Nope...can't really happen. Plus, if it could, with that crashed out window, it would have extended further beyond the building than it did. OK, enough with the technicalities. LOL

Just wish it wasn't going to be a year until the next season starts. Still gotta watch the first few episodes. Will have to check when the reruns will be on, or maybe see if it's on Apple TV.

Ahhh... but had you listened more closely as Jenner explained the purpose of the bomb, as far as the destructive properties, it was designed to burn extraordinarily hot, but in a limited area. He made mention of it having minimal damage to the surrounding area. ;)

Forgot about that. But having the broken window still SHOULD have extended some of the blast, if it was fueled by the air. Unless maybe they had a nitrogen stream in front of it. Technicality, though. :p

I liked it all except for Rick's speech but they had to have someone be the leader/tool/whinebag and get them out of there. :2
