The buzz over playoff baseball in DFW area is very cool. Hard to believe the cowboys are on the back burner this time of year. Hopefully the rangers will close out the series tomorrow.

Yes, I expect my boys will be hard to beat in a 7-game series. But the Rangers won't fold up like the Twinkies either, which is why I was happy with the wild-card. And were I a Texas fan, I'd be a bit concerned by the enthusiasm of last night's celebration. OK, I understand it's their first post-season victory, yet one has to wonder if they think they've actually won something so far. Just my :2 , and worth every penny.

Game 4 is in Arlington. Either that or the Texas Rangers are really bad about selling tickets! I used to live in Midtown Manhattan and my best friend and a bunch of friends still live in the city so luckily I've got crash pads but cozy sounds nice too. ;0) I was just up there three weeks ago. No, maybe just about naming them. They likely mean the 4th game scheduled for Arlington, if necessary, which would actually be Game 7, not Game 4. But they have a good excuse, I guess . . . as they ain't never been there, how the hell are they supposed to know? By this time every other year, they were counting strokes on the golf course. :r

Yeah, they sure showed it last night. The Yankee pen went 5 innings with no runs, and that 12-hop bleeder against Mo in the 9th being the only hit allowed. Meanwhile, the Ranger pen gave up the lead and the game without recording an out in the 8th.

Hey, I know little of the Texas pen, but I thought that a bogus opinion when I saw it. The Yanks have been solid out of the pen all season.

It was a decent game, up to a point anyway. Andy was good, and Lee was better. I predicted elsewhere that A.J. would get hammered, so we'll see if your Rangers can put a stranglehold on the series tonight. But to quote the quintessential Yankee, "It ain't over 'til it's over". :ss

2012 under way...first time through the rotation. 6-2. Here's my thoughts so far: Impressed with Lewis. Time will tell if he's better than last year.

Holland looks great, as does Harrison. Both matured and expecting good things for a long time to come.

Once Darvish got the rookie jitters out, he rocked it. Hope he's settled down now.

Feliz making a smooth transition.

And the BOOMSTICKS out again this year. Kinsler has 4 HRs in 8 games.

Let's hope they keep it up!!

I think 3rd time will be a charm.

Best thing is, Angels are in the cellar right now.

Sitting at 8-2. Watching our little Rangers play the twins, I was just waiting for them to come back in the eighth inning. No game feels out of reach.

The Angels will wake up. They will go on a run. They have some injury concerns, but the injury bug will hit the Rangers too. This should be fun.

Jasonw560
04-16-2012, 09:37 AM
I agree. I think the AL West is going to be very closely watched by all this season, although it will basically be a 2 team race. I also think (hope) the young arms for the Rangers will just get better as the season progresses.

As far as injuries, the Rangers have enough good hitting depth that I don't think it will set them back too much.

Next year, the AL West gets the Astros. So the Mariners won't be at the bottom of the heap any longer.
