You go to your Stinky the next day, grab the nub out and re-light that bastard just to get one more puff from it. And burn your fingers in the process. But man is it worth it. I did that very thing to a nub from a Camacho Triple Maddie that I got from emjaysmash in a blind taste test because I knew I wouldn't be getting any more of these for some time. What a sweet puff it was brothers! :D

The humidity here in Missouri kept it from drying out so it was smokeable Peter! Come on, you've never done this? Am I alone in this brothers?

I have sat down to eat, and relit the cigar after the meal.

Otherwise, all nubs get thrown in the field. They never sit in an ashtray or anything.

Kev, I'm glad you enjoyed the cigar....

...but thats gross! :r

If that one wasn't the last Triple maddy in my humi, I'd send you more!

Its a good cigar if you burn your fingers nubing it, but not relighting lit.

Never.
I guess the term "smokeable" is relative.

Smoke what you like. Like what you smoke.

I have heard of people enjoying the cigar to much they'll let the nub go out and crunch it up to smoke in a Cobb pipe...but thats not the day after. lol Maybe invest in a cheap cob?

Reminds me of the college days. Smoke a doobie before bedtime, then wake up in the morning and smoke the roach. lol.

I can't image a cigar that has been sitting that long being enjoyable. Usually a cigar that has sat for more than an hour becomes so stale and stinky that it is unsmokeable...

Now that's one thought that I can't say has ever crossed my mind.

But it does remind me of an old Roger Miller song.

I smoke old stogies I have found,
Short but not too big around.
I'm a man of means, by no means king of the road.

I tend to think there's about a 30 -60 minute window to relight a cigar, and anything after that is questionable. Going fishing in the Stinky the next day, no way. :td

For me it's more five to fifteen window. If I blow through it and no smoke comes out, I'm not trying.

It doesn't actually work that well, something about burning in the pipe really changes the flavor. It's also really hard to keep lit.

Now a Ram Clip, and optional straw, on the other hand, that does work...

Only thing I've ever done was smoke half a cigar, have something come up cut off the lit part, put it back in the wrapper. Smoke it about 1 maybe 2 hours later. That was once....it was maybe 70% as good...or 60...maybe even 50. But I wasn't about to waste half a cigar.

I can let a cigar go for about 15 - 20 minutes and don't mind relighting it, after that though.... :td

I did this. This past weekend, I ran out of time in the evening while smoking my R.A. Belicosos German RE. With about 1/3 of it left, Into the Bobken it went and I fired that thing up the next morning on the first tee.

No regrets, and it was just as good the next morning.

Was thinking about asking this same question, but on a slightly different level.

While I have never dug a nub out of the ashtray I have smoked a cigar the next day. It was a churchill size smoke that I got 1/3 through and had to put out because something came up. Clipped it off a little ways past the cherry and smoked it the next day while burning wood. I didn't think it was that bad, not the same, but not bad.:2

Never knew anyone to smoke a stogie down so far as to need a roach clip.

Hang around here and head out to a CA herf and you'll see plenty of roach clips/toothpicks used.

None the less. Find I smoke that's better than your beat and you'll be nubbing that bastard to death.

I don't think that is quite as bad as a dude that used to come to JR's in Selma, He used to get the cigar butts out of the ash tray that other had left. Now that is totally gross and a true story. They finally chased him out and he was told not to come back.:pu

We had one of these guys in Chattanooga at Burn's Downtown. Except he did it with outdoor ashtrays, and didn't discriminate between cigars and cigarettes.

So I'm walking by my "Stinky" ashtray last night when I see the remains of a Cohiba Grand Reserva. I picked it up, put it to my lips and started to fire her back up. Suddenly, after a few puffs I got reaaaaaally sick and began spewing vomit violently from my mouth.

I awoke in a cold sweat. Phew. Just a dream. :pu
