I'm somewhat new to smoking cigars and I would like to widen my palette. I was hoping some of you could recommend cigars based on my current favorites. I live in the US so preferably cigars I can buy here :) I am currently smoking.

Earlier this week, I burned a Cabaiguan Guapos JR 4 5/8 x 42, and it was a dynamite little smoke...:tu

Any Padron maduro. The 1964 anniversary series if you want to spend a little more.

Based on taste or shape?

Since you picked 3 different cigars I picked the dominant flavors of each cigar and went in what I think would be in the next step towards that direction.

Taste:
Liga Privada - La Flor Dominicana Chisel (Ligero not Double Ligero... yet)
CAO La Triviata - Padron 1964 Maduro
Punch Champion - Arturo Fuente Hemingway series

If you're looking for cigars with unique shapes... the Drew Estate Egg is one I would try based on shape.

I know I harp on these things a bit. But go to famous-smoke.com and pick up a 5 pack of Puros Huerfanos 681s. You'll be glad you did.

I'll second the Don Pepin Garcia thought as well.

DPG for sure. Anything by Giolito is good too. Particularly liking the Cruzado Dantes these days.

If there is still room in your budget, I have a feeling you'd like anything from Diesel and Cruzado.

Liga Privada - La Flor Dominicana Chisel (Ligero not Double Ligero... yet)

They do not make a Ligero Chisel to the best of my knowledge. So he might want to scratch that all together. ;)

Yea, I realized that when I was posting in the "What's your favorite LFD" thread. Hope you didn't go crazy looking for it, Pig.

It sounds like you're off to a good start. The Punch Campion and La Traviatas are great cigars. I'll have to try the Liga Privada you like.

I recommend you give the Oliva Serie V's a shot.
