Ok so I love my B&M. they seem to get everything and I've always thought that for such a small shop their inventory is spectacular. I walk in today and the inventory looks completely recycled as if it's all new. As I look around I find 6 sizes of Opus X, viaje TNT/50/50/Summerfest, every DPG blend under the sun. They do such a great job with their inventory and I only mentioned a couple!

I found out today that because Dale, the owner, has been in business so long and has made so many friends he gets the first shipments of all the new blends that he wants in the entire state of KY!

This is from my phone so I hope it's coherent but I just wanted to brag on them for doing such a good job!

Sounds like a great shop! You're luck to have a local B&M that appreciates its customers.

Some of us arent so lucky.

McKenzie, it's great that you have a B&M where you like to spend your time. I've also been lucky that in both the places where I live and work there are pretty decent lounges to sit around and have a smoke. It's part of the reason why I've been able to get by with a 25 ct humidor for 4 years.

Love the B&M! Unfortunately there is a public smoking ban that prohibits the existence of a lounge to smoke in....Ugh....So its just in and out unfortunately

Huh? I'm in Kentucky all the time, and I wasn't aware of any statewide smoking ban. We smoke all the time at places in Northern Kentucky.

Schwab's, in Lexington on New Circle Road (for now) has a mini smoking lounge, and the guys are always smoking in the store the few times I've been in.

Well here you go... Seems a lot of people don't really understand (including me) the law based on what I've been told.

Lexington, Kentucky was the first city in the State of Kentucky to put into effect a smoke-free ordinance. The Lexington Smoke-Free Indoor Air Law went into effect April 27, 2004 and prohibits smoking in any public building including but not limited to food service businesses, bars, taverns, bingo and bowling centers, pool hall, public areas in hotels/motels and any other building with public access. Penalties for violating this city ordinance begin at $100 for the first offense, $250 for the second offense and $500 for each offense thereafter. Individuals who are smoking in a prohibited area and have been asked to leave as a result can have trespassing charges brought against them should they refuse to leave. There are exceptions to this ordinance such as private homes, hotel/motel guest rooms, designated smoking areas in hospitals and nursing rooms, retail tobacco stores, private organizations and tobacco warehouses.

Sounds like Florida's, Tennessee's ordinance is a little different, the exception list also includes bars that enforce a 21 and older admission.

In Ohio there is a ban, but there are exceptions. Somehow at The Wharf in Beavercreek, you can smoke in the shop.

In Ohio there is a ban, but there are exceptions. Somehow at The Wharf in Beavercreek, you can smoke in the shop.

If you were a cigar store prior to the ban, you got grandfathered into being able to smoke indoors. Similarly if you're a tobacco store after the ban (ie 80% or so of the sales come from tobacco) and you have a standalone building, you can also smoke indoors. This is from the owner & manager of my B&M.

But I need to get into this store and restock my box of DES, get my hands on more of those 2009 holiday blends (which are smoking great right now) and see if they have any good Tats (i'm thinking OR blacks, boris, or franks)...

After finals this quarter I might drive down. OR when we have my fraternity formal in Gatlinburg, I might take a pit stop.

edit: By the way, do they take phone orders/ship orders? :)

Holy carp....18.99 for a dynamite stick? Granted I have not been shopping in a B&M for 10 years or more, but $18.99?? I am guessing that people find these worth that kind of coinage. I might have to
drop in on my B&M and try one or two of these new-fangled cigars.
Me love Cuban cigars.
