Puffing on a La Aroma de Cuba E.E. in the belicoso size. For me, this is a cigar line where the vitola makes a large difference in the experience. If they didn't make this vitola I probably wouldn't buy the E.E..

Are there any cigar lines that you smoke from where a particular vitola makes a big enough difference for you where you probably wouldn't buy it if they didn't make that size?

Good question. Makes me glad I have a box of them sitting in my cooler.

I'd say the DPD Cuban Classic bellicoso is by far the best in the line. I won't smoke any other vitolas as much.

I really don't like the RP Sungrown in any size but PC. I haven't had the a lancero sized yet though.

The only thing that comes to mind would be Vegas Robaina's - where I really only like the Don Alejandros.

I remember when the San Cristobal line came out from Ashton and there was one that stood out to me, the Guajiro (aka the long skinny one). I smoked them all and this was the only winner.
I found out later that this was the only cigar with a different blend. Which could have had something to do with why I liked it.

Smoking all the cigars in a particular line is called a Vertical Tasting. Depending on your palate and such, one vitola is going to stand-out over another. For instance, I like the Master Blend III Churchill the best of all the vitolas in that line.

Remember, this definitely comes into play when cigars are rated. A torpedo that gets a 94 doesn't translate into a robusto from that same blend.

kind've a ho-hum sort of line, but a regular yard-gar sort of stick for me - the JdN celebracion line. have three or four different vitolas but only enjoy the churchill.

i notice this sort of thing doesn't normally happen with cubans.
