There's flaws with smokes that can sometimes drive us nuts while we can live with others. I can deal with doing touch ups on a bad burn and can even enjoy a smoke that's being stubborn with staying lit from time to time. The one thing that absolutely drives me nuts is when there is a giant stem in the wrapper that no matter how hard you try continues to poke you in the lip everytime you put it in your mouth.
So what's some of your biggest cigar pet peeves?

I absolutely hate when a cigar goes out repeatedly, more than once or twice really pisses me off bigtime.

When they are out of my price range.:D J/K. Invisible splits in the wrapper that gradually widen the closer the burn line gets to them.

When I inadvertently light the wrong end. :r
Seriously, when it doesn't stay lit or the burn goes astray.

When you get one that burns down the center faster than the rest of the cigar. Then you have to continue to light it and just some time put it down.

Tight draws and splits that just keep growing.
Also when I have to put a good stick down because my fingers burn.

When my wife sets up to go to our sons house so he and I can have a cigar while the ladies talk.
Then she keeps coming out to see how much longer we are going to smoke. "Are Y'all STILL smoking them things?" "You didn't just light another did you?"

Tight draws and relights.
Any number of which >1 means a pitch to the worms.

In order - shitty taste, and then a tie between tight draw and the wrapper unraveling. Anything else can be fixed/dealt with. Lucky those three things don't happen too often.

When it's a Gurka.
But seriously, when a burn is so f'd up that it is beyond correction and the stick needs to be pitched.

Mine would be when the cigar burns unevenly after taking the time to light it properly...

when people say, "this cigar taste like sh** or this cigar taste like ass"
You really know what sh** or ass taste like? I'm sure it's bad, can't you just say bad?

For me it would have to be the unraveling of the wrapper becuase you took off the label and the glue stuck to the stick and now your smoke is jacked up.

:tpd: I can usually massage it out or fix with a tool, but when they are plugged beyond repair I aint happy!!!

Gave a cigar out to a guy yesterday that lit the wrong end and he had no idea!!!! Luckily it was a cheap one and I didn't care.

Constant burn line issues even though I lit it properly.
On a more personal side, I hate it when I get half way into a smoke and the wife starts asking me to do a whole bunch of random things.
I hate loose draws!
This would be my pet peeve as well, and it seems much more common than a too tight draw. I hardly ever get sticks that are too tight.
Loose draw cigars seem to always have burn issues and I can't keep them lit. I actually switched from a guillotine to a sharp knife, so I can remove just enough cap to get the draw I want.

Tunnelling. And when the glue on the bands sets onto the cigar as well.

Tight draws hands down; inability to keep lit second. I haven't had much luck trying to fix tight draws and they are a total waste to me. Unsmokable.

Another vote for really tight draw.
I only have so much patience when I have to jab the hell out of my cigar before it gets tossed. Definitley not worth the struggle in my book.

Tight draw which I am a regular victim of.
Cigar shutting off over and over.
Cigar is done. That one really, really bothers me as I have to go light up another.:D

I'll just go ahead and quote all posts, but the band sticking to the wrapper is the one that happens most often to me.

Nothing aggrivates me more than a cigar that won't stay lit. Re-light it more than once, it goes in the round file.

Loose draws piss me off. I would much rather have a tighter "classic cuban" draw than a wind tunnel.

Tight draws that can't be massaged out.
When the wrapper sticks to the band
Bands that you need a laser to get off the cigar
When the wrapper cracks or just explodes.

I always hate when you get some time in the evening and go outside to enjoy a nice cigar and as soon as you light one up and your wife comes outside telling you how she needs you to get something done right now. I hate having to put a cigar down before it is done.
If I don't have time to smoke it I would just rather not even light it.

I usually avoid this by asking her if she wants to come outside with me. If she says no I usually respond with "OK, I'll be outside for an hour or so, so is there anything you need me to do before I go out because I won't be back in for a while." If she comes out and needs something that is time consuming after that than she is SOL.:r

A cigar with to tight of a draw, or the band being stuck to the wrapper,
and of course the ones that spit apart or blow-up. Then of course the
smoker crushes out thier cigar in the ash tray.

I hate it when a cigar has more than one band on it. I have a tough time getting one off cleanly.
