No way man...eating the cartilage off the bone is as far as I go.

Go for it, Greg! As for me, I think I'll pass on the case of kuru, thank you. :D

Not sure how kuru and cannibalism come into the picture, but it sure looks good roasted and on toast. Seen it a few times on the Food Channel. :banger

Kuru is a degenerative neurological disorder of a type of tramissibile spongiform encephalopathy, sometimes called prion diseases due to their presumed vector, and is very akin to Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (often incorrectly called "mad cow disease").

Hey, I ain't tellin' ya to eat kosher, but I would warn you to mind what ya put in you maw. :r

I love chicken bone marrow and will suck the heck out of some from oxtail and beans. I grew up on a beef cattle farm and there is no part of a cow except hide and hooves I haven't eaten.

I don't think so. Most neural stuff stays inside the blood brain barrier or out. It could though. If it's cooked, I can't see a problem. Not that I care anyways, I'll eat anything. It's probably why I'm in the shape I'm in. :D

Kuru has never been found outside of New Guinea. And it was isolated to a couple of tribes who cannibalized brains as part of their funeral ritual. I dont think prions exist in marrow, only in brain tissue and sometimes the spinal column.

Gotta try it with toast. I have a few more bones sitting in the fridge, but now I'm not sure if I should eat them. Once in a while is fine, I haven't eaten it since I was younger, but to eat it for consecutive days :su but since I'm there already :r. That's what the gym is for right ;)

I didn't know people ate this. I feed it to my two huskies multiple times every week. They love it - but there isn't a meat they haven't loved yet.

Maybe next time I'll crawl on to the ground with them and gnaw at it...

Let's face it folks, this is one of the reasons we have higher order brains.
Some of the first tool use specialization came from figuring out ways to
get AT this stuff.

:r:r...That's about the extent I thought it was consumed. If your huskies are like my German Sheppard, you won't have a chance at getting that marrow. :D
