I'm thinking mind control would be in my top 3.

so, apparently I f-ed up the thread. Superman is a person, not a power. After being called several nasty names by Mr Tran (aka, the asshat that started the original post) I have decided to change my answer.

If I could only have ONE (which is stupid by the way, if we are gonna play make-believe why cant I have more than one???) superpower... that power would be: FLIGHT

Shapeshifting or polymorph would be awesome. Changing to a bird, fish, pissed off gorilla or fly would rock in their own right... but if you could become inanimate objects too... that would be a much too vulgar display of power.

Super fast flight like faster the jets and rockets. I could just take off and fly where ever in the world I want. I mean for real who could stop me? It would be awesome like a Herf around the world. Take like weekend vactions to tropical locations, ski anywhere in the world, surf all over. Man it would be nice.

Why is it all I can think of is "Be careful what you wish for because you might get it"?
If you had mind control it wouldn't be long before people figured it out and you would spend all your time deflecting them. Flying without being a man of steel is more dangerous than riding a rice rocket. Invisibility is too easy to defeat.
X-ray vision would be good for a life of crime, or being a doctor.
If Da Klugs found out you were willing his cigars away he might take out a contract on you.
Yep, it's gotta be the super healing power. I'm 48 now and that one is sounding real nice.

A friend of mine said he wanted a small time hole so that he could go back to any time in his past and have enough room in the hole to stick his arm through and smack himself in the back of the head before he did something stupid.:r

Me, there are so many that are interesting but I might have to go with immortality (Highlander anyone?). It would suck to lose the ones you love but it would be awesome to see how history develops over the next 100, 1000, plus years.
