601 - Cubao - Murcielago - Mi Barrio are now being distributed by Rocky Patel. Not sure how this will effect Pepin's hand in blending or producing the lines.
Thoughts...

I heard this last night. Really hope is doesn't affect the blends...especially for my favorite 601 Blue.

According to Eddie Ortega, NOTHING is changing with the blends and will continue to be rolled at the My father factory in Esetelli...
Although Rocky is now part of our company and will be distributing our brands, and Pepin is the manufacturer, they are our brands

The only thing that comes to mind is that if nothing in the way of the blends will be affected then I may see more tastings of these brands. :banger Rocky Patel seems to do a lot of tastings.
Oe more thing just came to mind. There may be a greater chance of getting more online specials on these brands under RP distribution.

That'd be sweet:

this was reportedly done to lower prices, which is not something you hear much about these days.... I would love for 3 of my top favorite smokes ever (601 blue and green and cubao). This hopefully would bring the mi barrio in line with reasonable pricing too.
Just don't f*ck with the blends or construction.

honesty is the best policy my grandma always said.:tu
I always thought I was pretty smart and still do. The thing is, the older I get the more I discover that I don't know as much as I thought I did. That make any sense?

I wonder if this is why there have been so many sales on 601s... seems like every day I turn around there are blues for $4 or a box of reds at 40-50% off. It has taken EXTREME willpower not to get a box of each...
Maybe people are trying to move what they have to expand their relationship (i.e. get better terms) with RP as distributor... who knows though.
So... anyone up for a rainbow box split? :r:r:r

The thing that comes to mind is this, while Rocky has got his stuff everywhere a lot of retailers grump about the ability to get what they want when they want. If he can't keep his own stuff regularly in stores how will he do with someone elses?

Tried calling Eric but got his voicemail.
Let's see if I can eventually get him to ask him.
