From the information I was able to find on this stick... These sticks are packaged in unique wooden boxes. These are certain to satisfy the lover of fuller-bodied cigars, these “puros” are handmade in Nicaragua with ultra rich Nicaraguan wrapper, binder and long filler tobaccos.

Wrapper: Nicaraguan
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Size: 5X54 (Robusto Grande)
Price: Box of 60 for $ 160 / $ 2.67 a stick OH YEAH!!
This stick was dark chocolate brown in appearance with moderate veins. Pre-draw flavor was caramel, right up front and hit me right away. Had an excellent draw and it burned evenly all the way to the end.
1st Third: Detected caramel and a sweet woodsy taste, very enjoyable.
2nd Third: At about the half way point the caramel is still present with a hint of leather and milk chocolate. I'm digging this stick!!
3rd Third: The final third stayed consistent with caramel and leather. Might have found me a new "go to" stick.
This stick was full bodied in flavor, but mild to medium in strength. Can only imagine these will be awesome with a little time on them. Would I buy this stick? HELL YES!! Seeing how I picked up a box, looking forward to enjoying more of these. Will be putting these into my regular rotation. :tu

Nice review, Mac. They look yummy, but are they supposed to be an Edge knockoff?

Not sure Jeff...the Original Natty I had a few months back didn't have a band. Must be something new they are doing. Gotta love those marketing folks. :r

Doggone it, another one to try.
As MJ said, I have had some of the natural Omar Ortez cigars, in the robusto and torpedo size. Usually an excellent Nicaraguan stick, fairly full-bodied, with some spice and earthiness to them.
As these are not black wrappered maduros, I may have to try some out.
Thanks for the review.

Nice review Mac. These are a great under rated cigar. I love the natural. Going to get my hands on some maddies today. There was a point when i was getting 5ers of the nats for $10-15 on c-bid with boxes of 60 going for around $100. The price has since gone up a bit.

Went to a small cigar event at the local B&M tonight. They had a rep there pushing Montecristos put was handing out the Ormar Ortez Maduro Robusto Grande. I was totally surprised at how good this "freebie" cigar was. Mine has a very easy draw (V-cut), the burn was even all the way down to the last inch and the flavor was good and throughout. I expected it to get harsh and maybe a little bitter at the end but it wasn't. We were also treated to a Scotch Tasting. It paired well with the Talisker 18 year Old and with the Laugvalin (The Distiller's Edition).
For what looks to be a fairly inexpensive cigar, this is definitely a smoker.

i actually had one of the maddys 2 nights ago. great solid stick and the price is right!!
Back in 06 burned a lot of these. When they were relatively unknown I was picking them up at Norfolk VA B&M's for under $2.35. As they became more and more common, I felt the quality start to slide. I've only had 2-3 the last couple years, but they have had thin, cracked wrappers, tight draws and a bitterness that I don't recall experiencing years ago.

That's a great price for a 10 pack. When I got the JR special, it was $2.15 per stick but I had to buy a box of 60.

Hey Mac,
These have really caught my eye. Somebody earlier on asked you if they compare to the Edge. What do you say? Similar? A knock off? I'm on the fence about trying them and was thinking about ordering a 5-er from CI.
Thanks!

These are such great sticks, I worry the prices will increase as Omar Ortez becomes more popular. These are great though, I pay almost $5 as singles at a b&m an still think its worth it. I am working on splitting a box early next year.
