MY HP officejet 2840 at work died and I'm looking for a new all-in-one printer. It is the primary printer for 7 computers and our primary fax machine.

I've only had HP's, and have really grown to hate them. Which other models should I be looking at? Brother or Xerox? Hoping someone has some personal experience.

Budget will be around $500 give or take.

Don't buy Brother. We have one at our office and it blows.

I have a Canon color imageCLASS 8180c. Big, Noisy, and somewhat slow on startup.
Good part is that it works great and has been for my small business. Networking it was a breeze.

Looks like I'm between Canon and Xerox at this point. Have to decide by noon.

Could not agree more. We have two of them and they blow 2 times as much.:tu

I have an HP at home and love it.

I used to love HP's, but my last three all-in-ones were very troublesome.

Now I'm looking at the Canon MF8350. Pulling the trigger soon.

I have used Canon, Epson, and HP, and they all have their pros and cons. If you don't want HP I would look at Canon and then Epson. Canon printers are a little noisy but do very well, and Espon printers have excellent color printing.

Even though you hate HP, they still make one of the better all-in-one series of printers.

I like that one better than mine. Staples has it on sale.

Does that mean they are all bad? I seem to get that sense as I go through various review sites. Nobody seems happy with the all-in-ones from any company.
My office is used to the HP and it's features, so a similar one would save some learning curve. Maybe I'll have to reconsider.
I really hate replacing equipment because it breaks.

Yup... I'm staring at it in my cart.

I'll throw out a vote against the Dell968.

It blows hard as well.

I have a HP laptop and a HP printer and they do not work well together at all. Will not be buying from HP ever again.
