Now I really don't get Andy Reid . :tf I guess he figures he should know how to beat him . Washington must have been the only team willing to give up the asking price for McNabb . I'll miss you D.Mac . Good luck to you . :tu

Do the Eagles really think that Vick is going to pan out?

You mean Kolb? Vick will still be filling the back-up spot.

This just shows that the Redskins do not believe in the draft. Have they ever not traded away draft picks?

I'll bet Philly fans are not happy. They are hard to please. Can't wait to hear "he was our best shot at winning and they traded him away..."

This sucks for Jason Campbell. Kid can play but will likely have to find a new home. Skins overpaid for McNabb.

As a Skins fan, I'm not happy about this at all. I know they can't win with Campbell, but this isn't the answer.

Since I don't see that many Redskins games a year, can you expand on why? From my perspective he doesn't turnover the ball much and moves the offense. He isn't spectacular but very solid.

Being a skins fan myself, I think the phrasing you are looking for is As a Skins fan, I'm not happy about this at all. I know they can't win.

Not all of them. :2

For the first time in the many years my knuckleheaded fanatic brethren have been calling for him to go, I thought they had a reasonable plan to replace him with Kolb. Personally, I think it is a clear and definite downgrade, but they were going to have to move on with in the next few years.

Then they set it up where they had to move him. Poor management by the front office, IMHO.

But to send him to a division rival? WTF?

Redskins total wins 2009 = 4 ... 2010 - I'll say over
Eagles total wins 2009 = 11 ... 2010 - I'll say under

And I'm a HUGE Eagles fan.

It appears the Eagles have completely given up. They were right on the cusp of being great, and instead of bolstering their roster, they're ripping it down.
Westbrook and McNabb pretty much WERE their offense. It'll be painful to watch them lose so badly this year.
Best I can figure is that they were at the end of a five year plan and didn't have any money left to chase a title. They just fell short by inches too many times.
I regularly root against the Eagles, but this is even tough for me to swallow. I feel bad for Philadelphia's fans.

It was time to let go of Westbrook. If he isn't done, he almost is. As for McNabb........

Thanks for the sentiment Scott.

I've always been underwhelmed by McNabb. He's an incredible QB, but he's always tanked when the chips were down. The recent Eagles, say the last ten years, have seemed to posess a major "fold em up" problem. It's like they get the best of the best served up on a silver platter and find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Kinda like the Steelers, but to the umpteenth degree.
You're right about Westbrook, Joel. I was thinking they could use him for one more run. Once they got rid of him, I expected a fire sale.
It's gonna be a long season for you guys. Probably as bad as the season looks to be for Steelers fans. We all of a sudden turned into Cincinnati. :D

I' a skins fan and I'm happy. We still need an o-line, but I'm happy with the trade. Maybe Synder will pick up Flozel Adams from the Cowgirls too!

We got Sonny Jurgensen from the Eagles in 1964, so maybe this will work out.

As for the Skins, I have never seen a team do SO little with SO much. Dan Snyder has to be the worst owner ever! :r:r

Philly just became worse...and the Skins only have one way to go. Yea get Adams, that would be right in line with the Skins philosophy...and look where it has gotten them :r

His stats have been on the decline. He had some amazing years but his mobility really isn't a threat anymore. As a pocket passer, his stats aren't tha much better than Campbell. Granted, it's an upgrade in all aspects, but nothing that's going to really be the answer. The past few seasons, he's really declined.

IMO, he throws way too many into the ground and requires receivers to lay themselves out to get a pass.

Then again, what do I know? :D

I don't care who they have at QB, nothing is going to change for the Skins in the backfield until they do something about their offensive line. I was encouraged by Jason Campbell last pre-season before everyone started to get hurt--there was a stat near the end of the season that something like 7 different players had rotated through RG during the year. Even Peyton Manning couldn't be effective with that kind of protection. It also impacts the running game--when Portis gets into the open field, he's explosive. The problem is: .... getting him into the open field. When every other play call is "Portis up the gut," and the freaking lane closes a second after the snap, there's only so much the guy can do.

One thing I'll say for Campbell is that he is one tough SOB. I've never seen a QB take that kind of punishment down after down, and make it through the season.

So I'm not sure how this is going to work out with McNabb. I like the guy and have some hope, but I'm more discouraged that Dan Snyder once again trades away high draft picks and an opportunity to build a franchise in order to get a questionable, albeit formerly great, commodity.

Anyone remember the Deion Sanders debacle? That man should never have been allowed to wear burgundy & gold. :fl In case you forget, it's Reason #2 on the Danisadouche website :tu:

http://dansnyderisadouche.wordpress.com/

It showed Snyder's true colors, and foreshadowed everything else this idiot has done to kill my team.

Redskins fans can enjoy watching McNabb throw laser passes low and behind their receivers. He struggles hitting his target in stride but he does have a huge arm.

As for Kolb, who knows what he'll wind up doing. He's the only NFL QB to throw 300+ yards in his first two starts, but that could mean nothing. He's certainly got the weapons to make it happen with Jackson and Celek, though.

I should have been more specific.. Why can't they win with Campbell? I agree I don't think McNabb is that great. If they would keep Campbell in 1 system for at least 3 years, I believe he could be a solid starter. With the right pieces he can win. As a quarterback, Campbell plays smart and doesn't turnover the ball. That's how a superbowl is won.
