So I'm relaxing, enjoying my day off, drinking a Pepsi Max and all of a sudden I notice something in my mouth that shouldn't be there. What I discover is a sliver of either glass or plastic that came from the Pepsi can.

Thankfully I caught it with my teeth before swallowing it or having it do any cutting or damage to my mouth.

Obviously, I called Pepsi right away and spoke to a very sympathetic and kind employee of the company. They got my story, took my information and I was pleased to see that at no time did they ever act as thought I might be feeding them a line of BS (which I wasn't of course). But I imagine they get that sort of thing often enough.

In the end they said they'll be sending me a couple of cases of Pepsi Max for my troubles. All in all, that's not half bad. Thanks Pepsi, way to step it up for your customers!!!

Here's a photo (a little out of focus... sorry, I used my cell) of the can, you might be able to see the sliver there to the right of the opening.

This is how companies should act in response to complaints. The few cases they send might cost them a couple bucks in the short run, but keeps you around as a customer for the long run!

Good work Pepsi, that's the way it should work!

It's a nice gesture, but honestly if I found glass in a coke/pepsi i'd switch to something else.

Fortunately, this is the first time something like this has ever happened to me and seeing as how I drink a lot of soda/pop (whatever it's called), I'm not quite ready to switch.

That said, if it happens again, I might be more inclined to consider a switch.

Thats what you get for drinking Pepsi in the first place!

All jokes aside, glad you came out from the ordeal ok. Glass in the mouth is not something i ever want to come across. Good job on the Pepsi CS though. A big company like that should take care of their customers.
But I think I would deffinately switch to another brand **ahem Coke cough cough**

A few cases of Pepsi - $30
A lawsuit - $1mill
Which would you rather pay out?

Glad to see you are ok though!

I worked as a consultant for Frito-Lay (a PepsiCo company) for a year or so. They would always take care of the customer who called with a foreign item in their chip bag. The company reasoning was that the customer would spread their story - bad word of mouth advertising or good, depending on the company's response.

All in all, they were a pretty good company to work for.

For what it's worth, I'm also a Coke fan... honestly, I'm a fan of which ever is on sale. I'm definitely glad I wasn't hurt; otherwise a couple free cases wouldn't have resolved the issue. But no harm to me, no harm to Pepsi as I see it.

The real question, how long till I see those free cases?

I received my official letter of apology today from Pepsi, along with 2 coupons for a 24 pack of my choice.

Good on em....but I guess that have to take stuff like that seriously or they could end up in a lot of trouble. Still though, good job Pepsi :tu

Did they ask for the particle back? I work in a similar environment, and any customer complaint like that would be treated VERY seriously. We would want the particle back so that we could determine what it was and where it was introduced to the product. I would be disappointed if they had no interest in it...
