View Full Version : My first CC

I just received a box of PSD4's today. I know I should let them rest for a week or two but just had to try one. I had pretty high expectations after always hearing about CC's and waiting 2 weeks for delivery.

When I first lit it I was very disappointed. I guess I was expecting them to jump out of the box scratch my nutz and make me a drink. At first I did not get the twang thing and thought it tasted like a regular NC. An inch or so in I started appreciating the difference in taste. By the middle of the cigar I was really getting it. Since I started smoking cigars in Dec I have smoked about 70 NC's from all different countries and brands. Along with a Tat brown label this is the second cigar I have nubbed. The dog got an extra long walk tonight.

I was almost hoping I would not like it as they are difficult to get. I can only imagine how they will be with a year or two of rest.

As good as it was there are still quite a few NC's that are just as good in a different way.:ss

Give them a little nap 2-4 weeks and try again. I'm sure they're still in shock from all the time they spent traveling. :D

I rarely ever smoke CC's. I remember my first, though. A Monte Petit Edmundo. OUTSTANDING cigar. Good memories.

Someone else said it best. And I paraphrase:

"Smoking CC's ROTT is like killing babies"

I know I know... but I just could not help myself. Hopefully the rest of the box will spend some significant time in the coolerdor

The first time I smoked a CC was when I was in cuba. I got a bundle of 25 no-name cigars wrapped up in a bundle for 1$ Convertible Dollars (1.65 Canadian). I figured they would suck. I go light one up, and every puff was amazing. Not to mention they had cost me 4 cents a piece lol. Anyhow, my first CC (with a label) was a Cohiba Siglo II

Smokin a CC is like getting hit with a ninja mind bomb. You say to yourself, "Ya, that was good, but I still like all my NC's too. But then you smoke yer NC's and guess what...In the back of your mind yer thinkin "This is good, but where's that flavor I had when I smoked that CC".
Then you find yourself looking more often at the Habanos forums and checking out web sites that sell CC's "just to see what they cost" and then when you go to check out and put in a bid at "the devil site" ya just can't pull the trigger, knowing that you could buy that "forbidden box" at the same price as the NC's you where looking at.
Then 1 day...BOOM, ya realize you have a couple of 120 qt coolers and a cabinet full of CC's and you know you have no more room for more, but damn, there is some great sale on and you just have to get that new LE that just came out!
Welcome to the dark side, ya...good luck with that, theres no lookin back!:r

I see threads like this and think, man there is something seriously wrong with me. You see I have smoked my share of CCs and to be honest I would rather have a good Nicaraguan Puro over a CC most if not all of the time. Oh well guess that good for me because they are easier to get LOL

I find most NC with any real flavor to be too harsh. I smoked an Oliva Series V the other day and :pu . Just my opinion though and I love Padron Anny's.

It does get increasingly difficult to justify the prices of NC's when you can pick up CC's for the same prices

Smoke what you like, like what you smoke Frank. :)

Me? Make mine a Cuban. :)

The first time I smoked a CC I was terribly disappointed. I realized later on that it (and the next several that I had) was probably a fake.

When I had my first real CC I was pleasantly surprised. They are much different than NC's and I find that I really like the variety.

Having said all that, just remember -- that 'ole slippery slope is a one-way trip! :D
