Well, I am going out golfing this weekend, sadly flying solo, as my buddy that I usually go with is very busy. Any ways, do you guys take a stogie on the course? What do you do with it when teeing off and shooting? Any thing else I need to know?

Around of golf with out a stogie is a sad round indeed.

I always bring at least two. I have a cigar clip that I clip onto the cart or I will just set it on the cart.

here's a thread for one of BOTLs that sells some clips.

I have never golfed alone, or with a stogie, so this is going to be a double whammy for me.

This is a good question man. I would probably smoke something small. I tried golfing with a big ol' smoke once, didn't turn out too well. The whole hold in your mouth and make a good shot just doesn't work out. That has been my experience. If push comes to shove you can always rest it on the cart somewhere. It is not ideal but ya gotta do what you gotta do. Anyway, enjoy your smoke and your day on the links!

I would never take A stogie on the course with me !
I usually take at least 15.

And look into a cigar clip for the cart/bag.:tu

There are a ton of places to get them, this was just at the top of a Google search.

Cigar holder for sure and I smoke Churchills as it's a long walk between shots sometimes. I take the gar out and put it in the holder, hit it and do it all over again. I won't golf without a cigar or beer for that matter.

I have a clip that I use and I usally have a Gran Habano Corojo #5 -- nice stick that will usually last me 9 holes. It also has a nice thick wrapper that can take some (little) abuse from taking it in and out of my clop.

I smoke a cigar every time I golf whether it's playing the twilight special by myself or with a foursome. I usually walk when I play and I don't have a cigar clip. When I'm about to make a shot I just throw the cigar on the ground. I'm usually in the rough so it has some cushion:D If I'm actually on the fairway I'll just lightly throw it on the ground. I don't take great cigars on the course with me because I'm not really concentrating on them. If you don't have a cigar clip don't worry. You'll be fine. BTW I'm REALLY jealous that you're golfing. I can't wait...

Take what you like. I know it is a vague suggestion, but I mean it. I normally take two or three. I'll take a few corona gordas and a robusto or a churchill and a mix of things. If I want to relax after the round, I still have a smoke to enjoy.

I used to take decent sticks to the course, but I'm done with that.:td

They smoke like ****, you have to relight it 70 times, you leave it on the last hole, your buddy runs it the F over with the cart, etc...

So I take things like Flor de Oliva's, Perdomo Fresco's, & Don Tomas.:D

Cigars on the course are a must. I like a big stick for the course about med body. As for the clip, they are nice to have, but I just place it near my ball a swing away:tu

In most cases the golf course will pair you up with someone anyway, so you may not be alone. A bad day of golf is better than any day of work.

Ditto on all accounts. Just lay that sumbich down and hit your shot. I smoke tons of great cigars but never on the course. You should be concentrating on your game enough that the cigar is almost an afterthought so smoke your cheaper cigars during and your good stuff afterwards.

I always smoke cigars on the golf course. I tend to bring large cheap ones so they last I'm not worried about wasting money on a great cigar. Regarding holders, I use this one http://heaterholder.com/. Before that I would lay it on the seat of the cart or when around the greens/fairways, I would rest the cigar on the extra club (e.g. wedge on the putting green) lit end down, so that the mouth part of the cigar doesn't contact the grass. Golf courses use too many pesticides to be licking on the grass. Just my opinion.

I thought I smoked fast, when I read some reviews where the reviewer takes 2 hours to smoke a toro. I usually smoke a toro or similar size (glorioso, torpedo) on the course, and I can usually get in 2 smokes over 18 holes when I walk it. I get around pretty quick playing by myself, around 2-2 1/2 hours.

Hell no... Not to be an arse, but I generally light up before the first tee so if anyone has a problem, they can ride in the other cart. If you're walking, I definitely wouldn't ask. Cigar smoking on the golf course has never been an issue (unless you play public courses in CA, from what I've read even M.J. can't light up). Good luck, just use your common sense and have fun. :ss

I use one of these clips. Works great. In a pinch I have no problem putting my cigar on the grass but they use so much pesticide and other chemicals on golf courses I prefer not to if I don't have to. If that makes me less of a man I guess I'll have to turn in my man card. :cb

I usually take 4-6 cigars with me and usually smoke 1-2 a nine depending on how fast the round is moving. My weekly golf league is plagued with slow play so I have on occasion been on my third cigar at the end of nine. I'm not a particularly fast smoker. Sad I know.
