View Full Version : Backordering Diesel Cigars

I'm a big fan of the Man O War Ruination and want to get my hands on a box of the Diesel Unholy Cocktail, but the sites that sell them are all on backorder.
Has anyone placed a backorder while cigars were not available at the time for any sticks, or should I just wait to purchase when the web sites show them available?

I can't answer about the backorder, but if you pm me your address I can send you a couple to hold you over.

They are CIs house brand and have taken off like wild fire. I'm sure they will be doing another run of these and will be in stock soon. (Crosses fingers as I should have jumped on these sooner)

I was just looking at the Diesels today as well, and I only looked at CI but it showed backordered. I guess that is probably a good sign that they are pretty good. I would like to pick some up also. Every review I have read has been positive. We are expecting our tax return, so I thought I would irresponsibly spend some of it on a box of smokes.

I thought about contacting CI and telling them they need some type of "Notify me" option, so that people who are waiting for an out of stock or backordered item, will know when they become available, and spend their money with CI, rather than somewhere else.

These are a great little smoke. I received two in the NCMAW and I thought they were great and at that price point how could anyone complain. Give them at least a couple weeks off the truck. I'm going to have to search the couch cushions for money to buy myself a box. My budget has been all blown to hell this month and it figures they come back in at that time. I'm sure once I recover they'll be back on back order.

I've only had one, but the draw was perfect. The Unholy Cocktail is a torpedo, so it's easy to fine-tune the draw. I'd snag a 5er if you're hesitant about dropping the cash for a box.

I have never had a draw problem and they always seem to have a razor sharp burn line. The construction on the ones I've smoked have been impeccable.

The Diesel is an excellent cigar at an unbeatable price. When I finish this box I can see myself buying another down the road...

That's funny that you had that impression of this smoke. The first one that I smoked I lit it and for about the first 1/4" I kept saying, what the hell is the hype with this cigar, I'm almost ready to put it down and pull something else out of the humidor to smoke but shortly there after the flavor started to pick up and I really enjoyed it. The second one was a lot better out of the gate so I figured maybe the first one was like that because I literally smoked it two days after it got here so I chalked it up to being in transit and needing to settle down. They are definitely a good little smoke and for the price point you really can't go wrong. It's one of those sticks that if I start smoking it and need to put it down never to finish than I won't feel as guilty like I would should I be smoking a $6 or $7 stick and have to put it down early. By the way I spent money I shouldn't have by having a buddy call and tell me he is ordering a box and asked if he should order me one to save on shipping. What's a guy to do my arm was being twisted?:D

I believe QB is good up until the next bid would be higher than the QB price. I'd jump on this if I had the cash. It's 2/3 of the way to retail with 3 days left. I guarantee some morons will bid this over retail.

These tend to go over retail as I have been watching them and the people that have been saving the most money on them are the ones doing the quick buy option. Cigar Bid is notorious for going over retail but some of the lots I have been watching lately have been ridiculous. I guess it's been a blessing that I have not been able to score any deals over there lately. If going the C-Bid route I would just do the Buy it now price as that is still almost $13 savings.:2

I have seen some go over retail which is foolish to say the least. Especially whenever CB has an Anejo or an Opus.

As far as this price, $87.50 is pretty good. And if the Colibri cutter from CI doesn't mean anything to you, it makes sense to go this route.

I had my first one a couple days ago, urged on by this thread.

The construction was impeccable--perfect draw, perfect burn, and the ash held for over 1/2 the stick (ashed only the once). The flavors were good, but the stick needs more rest for the flavors to coalesce and smooth out, imvho. I think that with some rest these could be VERY good cigars for the money. I'm glad I got a 10-er.

They are technically a CI house brand so finding them locally might be tough unless a retailer brings them in upon request which will also cost you a but more as they will more than likely buy them at full pop and than add their markup on top. I was surprised to find them in a local B&M and they had said some of their patrons requested them. They were charging $7.50 a stick which means if I were to buy a box from them it would cost me $225 as opposed to ordering them directly from CI and getting them for $99 plus $5 shipping or wait for them to pop up on C-Bid and do the Buy It Now feature for $87.50. I think online cheaphumidors.com has also been selling them for $99.

They are technically a CI house brand...This is really interesting since I purchased mine from CheapHumidors.com...

CI, Cigar.com, Cbid and Cheap Humidors are all owned by the same company I believe...

Funny thing is the first Diesel I smoked was at a local B&M who ordered them due to client requests.

He was selling them for 6 bucks and before I found a box online, I thought it was a fair price for this cigar.

These are the same cigar as these (http://www.cigar.com/cigars/viewcigar.asp?brand=765). Correct? If so, I will jump on a box.

however if you order from CI you can get the cutter for only a dollar more,

speaking of which, I have been using the cutter more and it has been working fine, I guess it just felt different at first. :)

I was offered the same deal from cigar.com but for some unknown reason didn't add the cutter.

:bh

That's ok though; I found a nice Cuban Crafters cutter for 13 bucks that I've fallen in love with. :tu
