.................can you go without a cigar on average?
I had been back to smoking daily and have suddenly felt I needed a self imposed break.
I have been skipping Monday through Thursday and just lighting up on weekends. I still do about 4-5 on the weekend.
Living in South Florida, weather is not a factor to stop me. Seems I just go through cycles and this is one of them.
For you guys in the cold weather, should be easy to go a while as you have no choice. Does it hurt to do so? I know it hurt me like heck when I was living through NJ winters.
How many in warm weather can stay away from their patio in the evening and lighting up?

I don't physically need a cigar, but I would prefer to smoke one.
I hate winter. Right now, I am probably smoking 2 a week. I smoke 2 when it is cigar night (heated patio).
EDIT: Like Bao, I have gone weeks without one before.

I've gone almost 2 weeks without one before...the great thing about cigars is that I never feel that I need one versus wanting one.

especially in the winter. However, if Im smoking with the boys I can easily smoke 5 or 6 cigars in an evening to make up for it.

I am smoking about 1 cigar a week now and wish it was more but I don't find myself jonesing for them like I had with cigarettes. I can do a week or two. More if I had to.

I don't "go without" unless I have a damn good reason.
As long as the cigars taste good and I have a dollar in my pocket,I'm smoking.
I usually smoke 1-4 a week. Sometimes I go without one for whole week. I prolly average 2 per week. I also use smokeless tobacco so it's not a physical craving or an addiction with the cigars so I can go without them.

I can go through months of winter without one although from time to time I will want one. Even in the summer I would typically smoke maximum of two per week. Cigars to me are a relaxation activity which is why I don't smoke unless I can sit down and enjoy. I have no intentions of changing.

I smoke once a week or so usually. I'll go weeks without smoking at all though.

In the winter I smoke between 1-4 a week, in the warmer months, 3-7.
I have however, even during the warmer month, gone a couple weeks without.

Smoking a cigar is meant to be a relaxing leisurely experience so if I can't sit outside and really enjoy it I'm not going to bother. Living in Vancouver that means that during our rainy season, about 4 - 6 months of the year, I barely smoke. The most I ever smoke is 1 or 2 on the weekend so going for extended stretches isn't really a concern one way or the other.

This time of year, I probably smoke a quality stick every other day.
During golfing season, it's pretty much 2-4 a day. :D

When the weather is warmer I'll smoke one or two cigars daily but this time of the year I get in 1-3 cigars a week.

Yes it hurts.... I REALLY wish I could just walk outside in a tshirt and shorts and enjoy a smoke for 1.5 hours. It sucks that I can't....
At this point I get one in a week at most..... I will smoke more as the weather turns.
In the best of times, bet I will be having 5-7 a week......maybe more.

Two to three days for me. I smoke in my heated garage with the door cracked about a foot. That will change next week when I install a vent system in there.

If its warm enough in the garage I smoke there in the winter, if its not I don't really smoke. But I've never had a day where I felt like I missed something if I didnt smoke. So on average I smoke once a day I think, tho I have been 10-14 days without before.

Smoking cigars is one of my all time favorite things to do and I try to smoke as often as time will permit. During cold months its around 3 or 4 sticks a week with several days in-between. During the warm months its more like 4 - 7 depending on time restraints. I smoke when I feel like a cigar and refrain when I don't. Unless you are really concerned with the long term effects of smoking I don't see the point in placing self purposed smoking bans on your own enjoyment.
I don't know. I guess I just think that people who eat healthy, exercise, and do everything "right" still get hit by buses.
Enjoy your time here. It's short for everyone.

I smoke 1 or 2 every Tuesday and Thursday during the winter and a few more over the course of the weekends.
During the summer I smoke 1 or more per day. It's easier to smoke daily when you don't have to worry about freezing your #*&^ off.

I'm a weekend smoker, for the most part. Every now and then I'll sneak one or two in during the week.

The winter months slow my smoking down quite a bit. I try to get a cigar in once a week during winter. Winter is when most of my cigars get some extra age on them which is a plus.

I'm a weekend warrior too. I go weeks at a time without one, but I find myself really wanting one when that streak approaches a month.

I've gone several weeks without. Either due to illness or just lack of time. Currently, I've been without a cigar for 1 week.

During school I typically head to the local B&M with a buddy once or twice a week in between classes. When I am out on break it is usually once every few weeks or once a week if my buddys are up to it. However, the cigars will be flying out of my humidor faster than I can put them in during next football season in the new mancave of my future house.

I usually smoke just about every day. Sometimes I take off 1 day a week. But I give it up every year (since about '93) for Lent--that's about 6 weeks.

I've gone without cigars a number of times for up to two weeks. This is not really by choice but usually dictated by circumstance (e.g., travelling or when I have a head cold).
Usually I have 2-3 cigars a day week days and 4-5 on weekends...
I do find that if I am uptight or stressed out that a cigar really helps me settle down. I don't think it has much to do with the actual cigar, but the fact that when I have a cigar it is "me time" -- I relax, maybe have a drink, etc. and I don't worry about work or the other mundane things in life...

I totally agree, I like to come home after work and burn a stick. After a hectic day having a cigar makes you slow down, empty your brain, and for me just truly relax.
It's 1 cigar a day for me, it's like my daily vitamin

My longest stretch in the last 9 years was earlier this summer when I had a lot of dental reconstruction work done....21 days...now, its not a huge feat...but when you work in a cigar shop and are around people smoking all day long...it became a massive exercise in willpower too not smoke....

As long as I have to. I've been visiting my folks recently because my Mom is hurt(broke her ankle) and have gone close to a week without lighting up. I don't enjoy it, but I don't get sweaty and shaky if I don't smoke. Breaking the ice is especially sweet as well!

I've gone about 6 weeks without a cigar at some points. I smoke less in the winter because of the weather and have to go to the lounge if I want one (I don't smoke in my house out of respect for my wife). During the summer, I'll smoke probably 4 nights a week plus what I have at the lounge on Saturday.

Since I live here in the Midwest, winter really cuts into my cigar time. In winter, I usually indulge on the way to work or while sitting in the hot tub. I avg. 2-3 a week but I've really been stocking up for the summer. Can't wait for 70 degrees to be here!

I could go weeks, but I don't want to. I have had a lot of spare time lately so I have been getting in some quality smoking time. 4 or 5 a week. Usually it's only one on the weekend, if I can find the time.

During the cold months I may smoke a few cigars in the whole month, but when it's warm out, and I can sit on my patio, I will have a few a week. Unfortunately we don't have a garage, so my smoking space it very limited.
I get in smoking funks, for lack of a better term. Some weeks I won't even think about smoking a cigar, but others I want one every night after dinner. It seems like the non-smoking weeks are when school is really busy, and I actually have to study. :td

Over the last 6 months I've averaged 3-4 cigars a month, which most of those are smoked at the mob herfs. I think the longest I went without a cigar was a little over two months.

Hard to do...especially when the weather in south Florida cooperates...during that extreme cold spell I might have only smoked the pipe or a cigar every few days...when the weather's good I get a daily urge but try to confine it to one cigar or one pipeful a day, unless I'm at some kind of cigar event and then I might smoke 2 or 3 cigars, maybe 4 at the most...

I usually smoke one a week since it is cold here in Montreal. This is mostly during the weekends. However, in the summer I smoke 2-3 per week, depending on my schedule. I just smoke to relax and enjoy a smoke.

I have my convertible today and it is supposed to be dry this afternoon so I will have one on my way home from work for sure :D

When its winter time, I generally get to smoke one or two a week depending on how much snow we have to shovel. In the summer when I am on holidays, I might smoke 2 a day while gardening, painting, or yard work. If its really cold, I can do without, but its not fun.
I think I've had two in the last 3 months. Weather and family really eat into my "me" time.

In the winter it seems far a few. I have gone a a couple months in the past. Sadly, my schedule just doesn't always allow for me to sit and enjoy one for a while sometimes or I just take a break which has happened a few times and I would step away from cigars for 2 or so months just because it seemed I needed a break because nothing would taste good to me no matter what I smoked, but the winter time is the killer. Sometimes it's just too damn cold and if the weather isn't cooperative where I can smoke in the car with the window cracked a couple inches than I may go some time without one or it seems that when the weather is decent enough to ride with the window cracked my mood doesn't match and the stick will ride home on the passenger seat rather than in my hand. I'm the type of person where if I am pissed or just slightly aggravated I won't ruin my smoking experience. Now if I had a sh*tty day and I just need a pick me up than it's game on!:) Can't beat summers though. I try to get out back at least once of not twice a week with an ice cold Capt. Morgan/Dr. Pepper with a stick of my choice. Nothing beats it!

My wife lets me smoke in my basement...But I generally only have about 3 a week on weekdays. Weekends is a whole 'nother beast though... I can easily have 3 a day... I do go some days without smoking though... If I really have to.:ss
