smoked this guy tonight - was not prepared to do a review, just thought i'd have a decent cigar. wow...

i bought this a few months ago, and it's been stashed in my humidor and mostly forgot about. corona size, i believe - approximately 42 RG x 5 1/2 inches. turned out to be a really good cigar. smooth, medium to medium/full bodied. very earthy, nutty - kind've leathery. really enjoyed this little guy. all the way through - didn't change much in profile. construction was flawless, burned even, no touch ups. a nice little hour and fifteen minute smoke that i will go buy again. did a cursory search just now and saw a few reviews of the cuban classic (torpedo, robusto) but saw no coronas. anyone else have an opinion of this cigar?

as i said, i'll buy again. a great cigar that i paid about 7 bucks with tax at a local b&m and felt it was worth it.

If the size was the 1977, it is my favorite size of the DPG CC's. I used to love the robusto (1979), but now I crave the 1977's :dr

My favorite of the Black labels. The Corona Especial is actually 5 1/2 by 38. Some call it a petite lancero. A great size that I wish more smokes were available in. Hour-fifteen eh? I can't get them to last more than 40 min. :ss

Thanks for the review! :tu

This is one I definitely have to try. I have yet to be disappointed by anything made by DPG.

Never had the corona only the robusto (1979) which I like very much. Thanks for the review -- it sounds like I need to give this one a try!

Agreed! I used to like the 1979's then my boss got a box of the 1977's. I'm hooked.

Speaking of 1977 I believe that will be the first smoke of the day :banger :ss

I had a Tat Noella go 2hr 15min w/out a relight. Slowly sipping it.

I often get a DPG 1952 (Perla) to go an hour+.

But, an Oliva V Lancero goes about an hour too.

I've done that often as well, but most of the time those give me about 45 mins.

After this review I went out and grabbed a couple of Petit Lanceros (1977).

Can't wait to give them a try! :tu
