I wanted to dislike them, I really did.

But.....I freakin' love 'em. Everything a cigar should be (except for price!). To my palate, it's just about perfect. I've tried the Robusto, Pyramid, and New Perfecto.

They come in boxes of 10 and range from $279 to $300 (robusto, double robusto, toro, pyramid, and lancero). The new perfecto size is only available with the humidor.

no cigar that doesn't come out of klugs or chibnkr's humidor is worth that price...

Good enough to be the celebration smoke at the birth of my first born son next week... already smoked one [pyramid] and if the kid wasn't coming I would splurge on the humi and just deal with the wife.

Got lucky enough to grab a single of the Torp, and it is resting for a very special occation (and review!)

No way I could afford more than one (the one I got I wanted to kick myself for!), but I'm a slave to LEs it seems lol:D

Haven't heard of these before but what is the difference between these and the regular run of the mill Opus that makes them so different to garner that kind of coin?

Apparently andy garcia filmed a movie on the fuente farm a few years back entitled "the lost city"... carlito rolled these particular smokes from that particular yield that was growing during the filming... and theyre now just ready... apparently this was where they got the idea for the love affair also.

Awesome cigar! I have been lucky to smoke four. Two double robustos, one robusto, one lancero. All were good. Limited production cigar

so a second tier actor stands in a tobacco field and fuente gets to jack up the prices? can't imagine what would happen if someone of daniel day lewis' stature happened to show up...

They are supposedly from a special '04 crop planted right after the harvest in March that was used as a backdrop for the movie. Not sure if that makes them any better than the typical release or not, but that's the pitch. Also, apparently the lancero and love affair are not made form the '04 tobacco but were just special sizes. Here's an article (http://www.fuenteagedselection.com/main/news/lostcityarticle.htm) (<--link) on the cigars. More info about the humidors (http://www.prometheuskkp.com/products/humidors/limited_edition/2009_le_lostcity.htm) (<--link).

The Lancero and Love Affair are NOT the Lost City blend, they are the Regular Opus Blend (with an extra label)...

The Lost City blend is different (and it DOES taste very different from the normal Opus blend) because the tobacco was harvested and planted at a different time from the normal harvesting...

Smoked part one of these last night. The first two thirds was one of the the greatest smoking experiences that I've ever had, which was odd considering I hate Opus. Soft woodiness with peppery undertones and a warm sweetness that was reminiscent of raisins and white grape juice (I **** you not).

There was also a warmth from the pepper that stayed with you after the exhale that had some beefy spicy components to it. In the last third it petered out dramatically to plain simple woody flavors. Also the first 2/3s were showed no complexity over time, it was just as I described it.
